Jaclyn Camp Named September Student of the Month

October 7, 2021

West Chicago Community High School in Community High School District 94 has selected Jaclyn Camp of Carol Stream as Student of the Month for September 2021. Camp was selected for consistent hard work in class, for always going above and beyond, and for being successful in all of her work inside and outside of school.

A senior, Camp has been on High Honor Roll every semester of her high school career, earning a cumulative weighted grade point average (GPA) of 5.565. She is an AP Honor Scholar and a member of the Spanish Foreign Language Honor Society.

Camp has been involved in Choir, Chamber Choir, Club Green, and WeGo Drama, and serves as a Student Ambassador and ROAR mentor.

Outside of school, Camp holds a part time job at a local department store. Over the summer she was an unpaid intern at State Senator Karina Villa’s office. Jaclyn also has her own small business hand embroidering clothes.

When asked about her favorite high school memory, Camp recalls the Choir trip to Disney World, which took place the week before school was canceled due to the pandemic. “That was really our last hooray for awhile!”, she said.

Camp has this advice for future Wildcats, “Don’t be too hard on yourself. Step out of your comfort zone and try new things because you can find some really good passions by doing that.”

After graduation, Camp plans to attend college to study English Literature hoping to work in publishing or become a social media marketer.
