The Wildcat Chronicle Earns Gold Medal from Columbia Scholastic Press Assn.

Congratulations to the staff of the West Chicago Community High School student newspaper, The Wildcat Chronicle, for earning the rank of Gold Medalist in the Columbia Scholastic Press Association's competition. Students earning the award are Ariana Alcantar (graduated in May, 2019), Leslie Nejera-Rivas, and Isabela Casimiro. The Wildcat Chronicle advisor is Ms. Laura Kuehn.

The Wildcat Chronicle staff earned 844 out of 1,000 points to earn the gold medal. Gold medals are given for a score of 800 and above. The Association offers annual Medalist Critiques to help student print or online media improve their final product. Each year experienced adviser-judges reads the print or online publication and analyzes it strengths and weakness as it fits within the standards developed as best practices. Comments and construtive suggestions are included in the critique. 

CSPA is an international student press association, founded in 1925, whose goal is to unite student journalists and faculty adviers at schools and colleges through educational conferences, idea exchanges, textbooks, critiques and award programs.
