Wego Drama Presents "PUFFS, Or: Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic"

Wego Drama at West Chicago Community High School presents the Illinois premiere of the hit comedy “PUFFS, Or:  Seven Increasingly Eventful Years At A Certain School of Magic and Magic” on Sept. 5, 6 and 7 at 7:00 p.m. in Weyrauch Auditorium at the school, 326 Joliet Street, West Chicago. The show is recommended for teens and adults and may not be suitable for young children. Tickets are available at wegotheatre.com or at the door. ADA access is at Entrance H on the south side of the building.

The show is a hysterical exploration of the world of a well-known boy wizard from the perspective of the other students in a magic castle. The adventures are heartfelt and funny as the students grow up and discover the true “magic” in their lives. Anyone who has enjoyed the story of a boy named Potter must see this show.

Nathan Bradley states, “This show really is magical as it allows the audience to laugh and have a great time. Being able to bring these characters to life is brilliant.” 

Mikail Herrera continues, “’PUFFS’ is also about who we are as human beings. We all wonder exactly what our purpose is in the world; these characters are trying to find their place in the world through adventure, laughter, and love.” 

Noemi Lara concludes, “These people may be fictional, but they mirror who we are in real life.  There is so much heart within the humor. This show reminds us why we love the stories of that certain boy wizard.”

The company of the Illinois premiere of “PUFFS” includes from Carol Stream:  Philip Calabrese, Jaclyn Camp, Margaret Hancock, Caitlin Harding, Samuel Incrocci, and Kathryn Wenberg.

From Winfield: David Brown, Justin Blackburn, Ava Fini, Mikail Herrera, Elizabeth Hurley, Cassi Villa, and Jazmin Wilkins. 

The show is directed by Mark Begovich, scenic design is by Chris Jensen, costumes are designed by kClare McKellaston, and hair and make-up is by Jaime Elza.

The performances are Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Sept. 5-7 at 7:00 p.m. at West Chicago Community High School, 326 Joliet St., West Chicago. The show is recommended for teens and adults and may not be suitable for young children. Tickets are $5 for students and $8 for adults and available at wegotheatre.com and at the door.
