WeGo Drama Presents the Musical "Mamma Mia!"

Wego Drama at West Chicago Community High School continues their 2018-2019 Season with their spring musical “Mamma Mia!” Performances are May 2-4, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. in Weyrauch Auditorium at the school, 326 Joliet Street, West Chicago.

“Mamma Mia!” is an award-winning show guaranteed to please all audiences. This touching and funny show tells the story of a mother and daughter on the eve of a wedding. Family history and true love are discovered through the songs of the pop group ABBA. Featuring songs such as “Dancing Queen”, “Take a Chance on Me”, and over a dozen more hit songs, this musical is a perfect evening of theater.

Wego Drama President Neve Ryan states, “This show is truly fun. It is great to get up and share this crazy and funny story.” 

Megan Kordik continues, “I am really hoping the audience comes for a great time and has as much fun as we are having. Sometimes, everyone just needs to have a bit of fun.”  

Noemi Lara says, “I really am enjoying discovering how great this music of ABBA really is. It is clever storytelling.” 

Finally, Nathan Bradley states, “Seventies dancing is really enjoyable.  This musical is guaranteed to get everyone on their feet and dancing in the aisles!”

The show is directed by Mark Begovich.  Scenic Design and Technical Direction is by Chris Jensen. Music Direction is by Brandon Fantozzi with James Wallace.  Choreography is by Nancy Bocek.  Costumes are designed by KClare McKellaston.  Hair and make-up is by Jamie Elza. 

“Mamma Mia!” features music and lyrics by Benny Anderson, Björn Ulvaeus , and some songs with Stig Anderson. The book is by Catherine Johnson and was originally conceived by Judy Craymer.  “Mamma Mia!” was originally produced in London by Judy Craymer, Richard East and Björn Ulvaeus for Littlestar in association with Universal. Additional material & arrangements are by Martin Koch.  Music published by Universal Music Publishing Group and EMI Grove Park Music Inc. and EMI Waterford Music Inc.  “Mamma Mia!” is produced by arrangement with Musical Theatre International, New York. 

Performances are Thursday, Friday and Saturday, May 2, 3 and 4 at 7:00 p.m. at West Chicago Community High School, 326 Joliet St., West Chicago. Tickets are $5 for students and $8 for adults.  Tickets are available at and at the door. Seating is reserved.
