WeGo Drama Presents IHSA Showcase

Wego Drama at Community High School continues their 2018-2019 Season with their IHSA Showcase performance on March 8 and 9 at 7:00 p.m. at the school, 326 Joliet Street, West Chicago. Admission is a suggested donation of $10.

Wego Drama will perform their 40-minute play and 30-minute Group Interpretation that are featured in Illinois High School Association competition. The two-shows are presented together to create a wonderful evening of cutting-edge theatre. IHSA shows deal with serious content and therefore are intended for teens and adults.

Wego Drama President Neve Ryan states, “These shows are absolutely amazing. Doing this style of theatre really pushes the intersection of creativity and theatre.” 

Samuel Incrocci continues, “IHSA shows are truly different. The play deals with real people; it is amazing to bring them to life.” 

Jose “Rudy” Muñoz adds, “The IHSA Group Interpretation shows us the struggles of our lives today. It constantly amazes me the heartaches in our lives. We share the shows in an attempt to deal with making a difference in our schools.” 

Lastly, Noemi Lara says, “The student leadership team really wants everyone to understand that we made the choice of these shows to hold a mirror up to our world and reflect powerful ideas.”

The company of actors and crew for the show includes from Carol Stream: Abby Carr, Philip Calabrese, Maggie Hancock, Samuel Incrocci and Nora Zamora; from West Chicago: Grecia Bahena, Nathan Bradley, Emily Carroso, Ryan Castiglia, Delaney Flynn, Josie Kotke, Noemi Lara, Audrey Miller, and Jose “Rudy” Muñoz,; and from Winfield: Justin Blackburn, Hannah Brown, Paige Custardo, Ava Fini, Mikail Herrera, Megan Kordik, Elizabeth Ryan, and Neve Ryan. The shows are directed by Mark Begovich.  Scenic Design and Technical Direction is by Chris Jensen.  Hair and make-up is by Jamie Elza.

Performances are Friday and Saturday, March 8 & 9 at 7:00 p.m. at West Chicago Community High School, 326 Joliet St., West Chicago. Tickets are a suggested donation of $10.  For more information, contact Mark Begovich at or visit
