Drama Students Perform Original Show "We Just Live Here"

Drama students at West Chicago Community High School are presenting an original work “We Just Live Here” on Friday, Dec. 14, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. in Weyrauch Auditorium at the school, 326 Joliet Street, West Chicago.

West Chicago Community High School Drama students researched, wrote, directed, and are performing this original piece of art. The show is based on interviews with people in the school, community, and others affiliated with the West Chicago area. It is a true reflection on what it means to live in this wonderful and diverse community. Through moments of drama and comedy, people of all different ages come to life.

As writer Massie states, “Each of their stories was given a moment— a snapshot into what it means for them to live here, from struggling with academics to reminiscing on times both good and bad.”

The evening’s writers, directors, and performers are from West Chicago: Grecia Bahena, Giovanni Benitez, Ryan Castiglia, Christina Champagne, Roxanne Garcia, Eric Latham, Ruby Lebo, and Winter Massie; from Winfield: Matthew Stavenger and Cassandra Villa.  Assisting with the production are from Carol Stream: Abby Carr; from West Chicago: Nathan Bradley, Delaney Flynn, and Noemi Lara; and from Winfield: Justin Blackburn. The play is coordinated by Mark Begovich. Technical direction is by Chris Jensen.  Hair and make-up is by Jamie Elza.

This free event will be performed once on Friday, Dec. 14 at 7:00 p.m. For more information, contact Mark Begovich at mbegovich@d94.org or visit www.wegotheatre.com.
