David Pater, currently the Director of Student Services for Community High School District 94, has been selected to replace Doug Mullaney as Athletic Director at West Chicago Community High School, effective July 1, 2019 upon Mullaney’s retirement.
A 2002 graduate of West Chicago Community High School, Pater has held many roles in Community High School District 94 during his career. Prior to being named Director of Student Services in 2016, Pater served as a Dean for 5 years, and held coaching positions in both football (Offensive Coordinator) and lacrosse (Head Coach). While at WCCHS as a student, Pater was a three-sport athlete, playing football, basketball, and baseball.
Prior to his tenure in District 94, Pater taught Physical Education in Elgin District U-46. His undergraduate degree is from Western Illinois University where he also played lacrosse all 4 years. His graduate degree in Administration is from Concordia University.
“I loved being a student and athlete at WCCHS and was proud to wear the navy and white”, says Pater. “I want to help provide athletic programming that our students and community are consistently proud of. The administration, faculty and BOE have worked tirelessly over the past 8 years to place our athletic program in a competitive conference with schools that reflect our programs, and moving forward I want West Chicago to be a place where athletics are part of our foundation.”
Pater resides in St. Charles with his wife, Pam, and three children.
