Wego Drama Presents "Doctor Jekyll and Mr. Hyde"
Wego Drama at West Chicago Community High School continues their 2018-19 season with the suspenseful play “Doctor Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” on November 1 – 3, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. in Weyrauch Auditorium at the school, 326 Joliet Street, West Chicago. Tickets are $5 for students and $8 for adults and available at wegotheatre.com and the door.
This show is a new adaptation by the mystery writer Jeffrey Hatcher of the gothic horror story “Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” by Robert Louis Stevenson. As one man wrestles with his battle between good and evil, one never knows what is in store when the beast is unleashed. Simply, all human beings have a darker side. Doctor Jekyll represents the idea of the dangers of how drives and passions can blind us.
Wego Drama President Neve Ryan states, “This mainstage play is a wonderfully dark tale! It lets us play on the theme of good vs. evil in a totally new and cool way!”
Nathan Bradley, who plays Doctor Jekyll, adds, “It is incredibly cool to be artistic and allow so many fun effects to happen. It is pure suspense. It makes a perfect extension of the Halloween week. I guarantee that the audience is going to enjoy it.”
Rudy Muñoz concludes, “’Doctor Jekyll and Mr. Hyde’ is the play that can show us the passions of the human spirit from multiple sides. Is any human being a 100% good or 100% evil? No. It is what we do with our hearts and mind that show our character. This play makes us think about those things.”
