Wego Drama Presents "Stargirl"

Wego Drama at West Chicago Community High School starts their 2018-19 season with the play “Stargirl”. This show is student directed by students Rudy Muñoz and Ryan Castiglia. Performances are August 24 and 25 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 available at wegotheatre.com or at the door.

The show follows Leo Borlock in his junior year of high school. When new girl Stargirl comes, his life is completely turned around.  Stargirl brings new energy, breathing life into the halls of the school. The play is by Y York and based on the award-winning novel by Jerry Spinelli.

Student director Ryan Castiglia, states, “I am so happy to be directing this show! Stargirl is a fun show about being yourself and spreading love towards everyone around you. Be prepared for a night of friendship and laughs!”

Student director Rudy Muñoz states, “Stargirlis an interesting take on the high school experience and will capture all ages. This is something truly special I can’t wait to share my senior year.”

The company includes from Carol Stream: Abby Carr and Nora Zamora; from West Chicago: Gerardo Avila, Grecia Bahena, Emily Carroso, Ryan Castiglia, Evy McLean, Audrey Miller, Rudy Muñoz, Liz Ryan, and Neve Ryan; and from Winfield: David Brown, Mikail Herrera, and Sabrina Lutfiyera. Scenic design is by Chris Jensen.

Performances are Friday and Saturday, August 24 and 25 at 7:00 p.m. at West Chicago Community High School, 326 Joliet St., West Chicago.
