Lauren Scanlan Appointed to Fill Vacant Board Position
At a special meeting held on Monday, July 9, 2018, the Board of Education of Community High School District 94 appointed Lauren A. Scanlan to fill the seat vacated by Mrs. Susan Gillespie last month. Ms. Scanlan will be sworn in at the July 17, 2018 Board of Education meeting.
Scanlan earned a Master of Education Administration from Grand Canyon University. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education and Theatre with a Secondary Education minor from Carthage College. Scanlan teaches 3rd grade at Winnebago Elementary School in Glendale Heights in Marquardt School District 15, and currently serves as principal of the district’s K-8 summer school program.
A committed volunteer, Scanlan has been very active with two youth leadership organizations for the past eight years, helping students build leadership skills and complete community service.
Scanlan resides in Carol Stream with her husband Eric, and son Russell.
Scanlan will serve on the District 94 Board of Education until April 2019, when the remaining two years of the term (until April 2021) will be filled via election.
