Wego Drama Presents "Rodger's and Hammerstein's Cinderella" (Broadway Edition)

Wego Drama at West Chicago Community High School continues their 2017-18 season with the wonderfully enchanting musical “Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella” (Broadway Edition) to be performed May 4 and 5, 2018. The story is based on the classic tale, but with an updated book for the twenty-first century. It is full of humor, a beautiful score, and fantastic production elements. 

Cast member Ricky Gieser shares “Cinderella” is, “…a thrilling show that makes us all laugh a great deal.”

Cast member Neve Ryan continues, “I love this show.  It is a take on the classic story with a modern sensibility.  This version has Cinderella as a powerful character, especially for girls. Finally, a version that allows the woman to be empowered.” 

Additionally, Nathan Hiltner states, “’Cinderella’ is a great show!  The music is amazing and the audience will enjoy it a great deal.”

The music is by Richard Rodgers. The lyrics are by Oscar Hammerstein II. The new book is by Douglas Carter Beane. The original book is by Oscar Hammerstein II. Orchestrations are by Danny Troob. Music adaptations and arrangements are by David Chase. Performances are Friday, May 4 at 7:00 p.m., and Saturday, May 5 at 2:00 and 7:00 p.m. at West Chicago Community High School, 326 Joliet St., West Chicago.
