Technology & Engineering Education

Technology & Engineering Education courses are elective courses open to students during all four years of high school. These courses provide a method by which students can discover their potential role in the technological world. Technology & Engineering Education also contributes to the development of personal goals and interests such as: hobbies, leisure activities, and general education curriculum decisions. Level 1 courses provide orientation and fundamental exposure to skill development and/or related technical processes. Level 2 courses provide for greater depth of knowledge and skill development.

Our courses expose students to a variety of career fields including Architecture, Construction Design and Management, Photography, and Graphic Design.  We also offer Dual Credit through the College of DuPage for students who enroll in Technical Drawing, Architectural Drawing, Machine Shop and Technical Mechanics. We have also recently expanded our curriculum to offer Geometry in Construction, a cotaught course with the Math Department where students learn Geometry and apply skills in a construction setting.  We are excited to offer this real world example of learning to our students! Check out this video to learn more about our Technology & Engineering courses and see some of our students in action: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xMYiSjymbnI    For updates on all areas of the Career & Technical Education Division, follow @WeGoCTE on Twitter!
