Mission Statement

The STEP service empowers students with diverse learning needs to achieve independence, responsibility, and success through individualized education, real-world experiences, and supportive pathways. We are committed to building life skills, vocational readiness, and self-advocacy to ensure every student confidently steps into adulthood ready to live their personal best.

  • Creating opportunities for students to meaningfully contribute to an ever-changing and challenging world
  • Honoring individual and cultural differences and well-being, while learning strategies to communicate in order to advocate for self for a variety of educational, training, employment, and independent living needs
  • Striving to achieve personal growth through a pathway leading to achievement of transition outcomes
  • Increasing independence by demonstrating responsibility and accountability for their own learning & success

Our vision is a world where all young adults, regardless of ability, have access to meaningful education, opportunity, and community. Through the STEP service, we strive to create inclusive pathways that lead to fulfilling lives, empowered choices, and lifelong success.
