Dear Community High School District 94 Families and Community Members,

Welcome to the start of a brand-new school year! I hope your summer brought rest, rejuvenation, and wonderful moments with family and friends. As we open our doors for another academic year,
I am filled with optimism and gratitude for the incredible opportunity we have to learn, grow, and succeed together.

Our primary mission remains unwavering: to create a safe, supportive, and academically rigorous environment where every student can realize their full potential. To guide our efforts and ensure continuous growth across our district, we are centering our work around two foundational areas of focus this year:

1. Continuous Commitment to Professional Learning Communities (PLCs)
Our ongoing dedication to Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) serves as the backbone of our instructional framework. Our faculty and staff work collaboratively in teams, continuously driving student achievement by anchoring their practice in four essential questions:

• What do we want students to know and be able to do?
  We define clear, essential learning targets across all subjects so students understand learning goals from day one.
• How will we know if they learned it?
  We use timely, meaningful assessments to monitor individual progress and understand each student's learning journey.
• How will we respond when some students did not learn it?
  We provide systematic, targeted support and additional instruction to ensure every student masters key concepts.
• How will we respond when students already know it?
  We design enrichment and extension opportunities to challenge and inspire students who are ready to dive deeper.

By continuously addressing these four questions, our educators ensure that instruction is responsive, equitable, and tailored to meet the unique needs of every learner.

2. A Deliberate Focus on Student Attendance
Consistent presence in school is essential for academic success, personal growth, and building a meaningful sense of belonging. This year, we are placing a deliberate focus on student attendance.

Every day a student is in class is an opportunity to connect with passionate teachers, collaborate with peers, and participate in active learning. Regular attendance builds strong habits, boosts academic performance, and strengthens our entire school culture. We look forward to partnering with students, families, and staff to cultivate a school environment where every student feels valued, motivated, and eager to attend each day.
