  • Below are examples of scholarships available.  Please refer to the Senior News for the most current information regarding important dates and the application links will be updated as we receive them. Please check back on a regular basis.

    Essay contest.
     
    AES ENGINEERS SCHOLARSHIP
    Essay contest available for those students going into engineering.  
     
    AHEPA 13TH DISTRICT SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION
    Applicants need to have a 3.0 GPA and be of Greek heritage.

    AMERICAN LEGION SCHOLARSHIP
    Application must be submitted with two letters of recommendation.

    AMERICAN SOCIETY FOR QUALITY OF ENGINEERING
    Applicants need to be planning to study Engineering.

    AMERICAN PUBLIC WORKS ASSOCIATION
    Applicants need to be interested in studying Civil or Environmental Engineering as well as any other program in the public works field.

    Applicants must be of Italian heritage and have a 3.25 GPA.

    Applicants must be a female and reside in Carol Stream. Applicants need to demonstrate strong academic achievements while balancing extracurricular activities, community involvement, and strong leadership.

    Applicants must be interested in a health career.
     
    CHICAGO ROOFING CONTRACTORS
    Applicants must be accepted into a four-year college or university in one of the following areas: liberal arts and science, engineering, architecture, or business. Recipients will be selected based on academic performance, faculty recommendation, extra-curricular activities, employment experience, and demonstrated interest in a productive career.
      
    CHICAGO WOLVES SCHOLARSHIP
    The Time Breslin scholarship is available to seniors through College Illinois.
     
    CISCO SCHOLARSHIP
    The Construction Industry Service Corporation (CISCO) is now accepting applications for its 2015 Scholarship Program. The three different program categories enable a wider range of the children of both building trade union members and union contractor employees to apply. CISCO offers (2), four-year scholarships ($2,000/year) to high school seniors; (2), two-year awards ($1,000/year) for seniors planning to attend community college; and (2), two-year continuing education awards ($1,000/year) to union members or contractor employees.  www. cisco.org
     
    COCA-COLA
    Open to any senior who is a US citizen and planning to attend an accredited US post-secondary institution. Selection is based on character, personal merit and background – a minimum 3.0 grade point average is suggested.
     
    COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF THE FOX RIVER VALLEY (a.k.a. THORIUM ACTION GROUP/KERR MCGEE)
    Available to students who will attend a 2 or 4 year college, vocational school or trade school.
     
    COMMUNITY SERVICES BLOCK GRANT
    Applicants need to be accepted to an Illinois accredited higher education or occupation training institute. They also need to demonstrate finical aid.
     
    DAHLQUIST AND LUTZOW ARCHITECTS, LTD
    Award for students planning undergraduate studies in an accredited architectural program.
     
    DAVID WAYNE FOX, SR SCHOLARSHIP
    Scholarship will be awarded based on grade point average, participation in community and school activities. Also, applicants need to have the intent to enroll in post-high school education leading to employment in banking, education, or medicine.
     
    DIABETES SCHOLARS FOUNDATION 
    Scholarships will be awarded to students who are high school seniors and will be incoming freshmen in the fall and who have Type 1 diabetes. Be sure to indicate you are a resident of DuPage County and list your town of residence.
     
    DUPAGE COUNTY 4-H FOUNDATION
    Applicant must have been a member of DuPage County 4-H club for a minimum of four years.
     
    DUPAGE COUNTY CHIEFS OF POLICE ASSOCIATION
    Scholarship is available to any DuPage County resident pursuing studies in Criminal Justice or related field.
     
    DUPAGE COUNTY FARM BUREAU FOUNDATION
    Applicants must plan to continue their studies in a discipline related in some way to the agricultural industry. Parents of the applicant must also be in good standing with the DuPage County Farm Bureau for at least two years prior.
     
    DUPAGE JUVENILE OFFICERS’ ASSOCIATION
    Applicants must plan to major in a field related to law enforcement or youth social services.
     
    DUPAGE MEDICAL SOCIETY FOUNDATION
    Applicants must be enrolled in or accepted for admission to a professional education or training program in a health care field.
     
    ELKS-WHEATON LODGE NO. 2258
    Applicants must be planning to enroll in at a two-year or four-year college, university, or
    vocational school. Awards are based on financial need, leadership and scholarship.
     
    EPILEPSY FOUNDATION
    Applicants must have a diagnosis of epilepsy (seizure disorder). Also applicants must show proof of acceptance in a post-secondary educational or other vocational program.
     
    EXCELLENCE IN AGRICULTURE
    Applicants must be accepted for enrollment at an accredited college, university, or community college within the State of Illinois and plan on majoring in agriculture or a major related to agriculture.
     
    FRANCENTER CLINIC
    The Robert Cleveland and Ken Dodge Memorial Scholarship Program is available to students who have a learning disability and are planning to continue their education in a tow or four year college.
     
    GE - REAGAN FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP
     Applicants need to be college-bound students who demonstrate exemplary leadership, drive, integrity and citizenship with financial assistance to pursue higher education.     GATES MILLENNIUM SCHOLARS
    Applicants should be African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American or Hispanic American. Also need a 3.3 cumulative grade point average. www.gmsp.org
     
    GEORGE MOUGOIAS MEMORIAL FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP 
     Applicants need to be of Hellenic descent and have a maintained a minimum of a C average (3.00 on a 4.00 system).

    GREAT CLIPS FOR HAIR SCHOLARSHIP
    Applicants need to be interested in pursuing a career in cosmetology or barbering. This scholarship can be used at an accredited cosmetology or barbering school in the counties of Cook, DuPage, DeKalb, Kane, Kankakee, Kendall, Lake, McHenry, and Will.
     
    HANSEN-FURNAS FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP
    Scholarships are offered to help with tuition and fees for students pursuing studies at any accredited college or university. General scholarship awards are based on financial need and academic performance.
     
    HISPANIC HERITAGE YOUTH AWARDS
    Educational grants are available for high school seniors of Hispanic Heritage. www.HispanicHeritage.org 
     
    HORATIO ALGER ASSOCIATION
    Applicants need too demonstrate integrity, perseverance in overcoming adversity, strength of character, financial need and a desire to contribute to society. Applicants need to have a GPA of at least a 2.0. www.horatioalger.org/scholarships
     
    ILLINOIS AMERICAN LEGION SCHOLARSHIP
    Applicants must be a child of an American Legion Post member in Illinois. Scholarships will be awarded on merit and on need. www.illegion.org
     
    ILLINOIS AMVETS SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS
    Several scholarships are available for those who are a child of a veteran who served after September 15, 1940, and were Honorably Discharged or are presently serving in the military.
     
    ILLINOIS LUMBER AND MATERIAL DEALERS
    Applicants need to be enrolled full time in a certificate or degree program in an accredited trade school, two-year junior college, or a four-year college/university in Illinois.
     
    ILLINOIS PTA
    The Lillian E. Glover scholarship is awarded to students who are in the upper 25% of their class who plan on majoring in education.
     
    ILLINOIS SOCIETY OF PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERS
    Applicants must have a grade point average of a 3.0 and have a minimum test score of 29 in the math portion and a 25 in the English portion of the ACT exam. Applicants also need to be pursuing a career in one of the following engineering majors: Agricultural, Chemical, Civil (including Geo-technical and Transportation), Control Systems, Electrical, Environmental, Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Metallurgical, Mining, Marine, Nuclear, Petroleum or Structural.
     
    INDEPENDENT ORDER OF ODD FELLOWS
    The Independent Order of Odd Fellows and Rebekahs of Illinois Scholarship program. Applicants need to have a "C" average or better and come from a family of average income. www.ioof-il.org
     
    JUNIOR LEAGUE OF KANE AND DUPAGE COUNTIES
    Scholarships are available to females who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to voluntarism. www.jlkd.org
     
    KFC COLONEL’S SCHOLARS PROGRAM
    Applicants need to plan to pursue a bachelor’s degree at a public institution within Illinois. Applicants need to have a GPA of 2.75 and demonstrate financial aid. www.kfcscholars.org
     
    KOHL’S KIDS WHO CARE
    Kohl’s will reward students who have an outstanding volunteer record. www.kohlscorporation.com
     
    LEARNING DISABILITIES ASSOCIATION OF ILLINIOS, INC.
    Applicant must be a resident of the state of Illinois, or be a standing member, or related to a standing member of LDA/IL. The applicant must show evidence of a psychological evaluation and an Individual Education Program, which indicates that the applicant was diagnosed as learning disabled at some time in his/her elementary or secondary school years. IEP and psychological need not be current.
     
    LEE YUNKER SCHOLARSHIP
    Applicants must have a GPA of a 3.0 and have taken a minimum of three years of high school mathematics. They must also be planning to major in mathematics education or field related to mathematics/science.
     
    LIONS CLUB OF WEST CHICAGO
    Applicants need to plan to enroll in a post-high school education leading to employment in the area of human services (teaching, social work, medical professions, etc). Applicants also need to reside in the 60185 zip code.
     
    MARIANJOY
    Bruce A. Schurman Scholarship is available to help people with who are functionally impaired or physically disabled due to a brain or spinal cord injury, neuromuscular or musculoskeletal condition, or stroke.
     
    MEIJER SCHOLARSHIP
    Applicants need to have worked at a Meijer store or have a parent/ guardian who may work at a Meijer Store. Applications are available at http://meijerscholarship.egrant.net.
     
    NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF SECONDARY SCHOOL
    The Prudential Spirit of Community Award will be presented to one student. Selection will be based on academic record and student activities.

    OUTSTANDING STUDENT COUNCIL SCHOLARSHIP
    Applicant must be an active member of student council.
     
    PARAMOUNT FOUNDATION (a.k.a. TCI FOUNDATION)
    Criteria include a minimum height (female 5’ 10” and male 6’ 2”), academic achievement, school activities, volunteer work, and personal achievement. www.tallclubchicago.org
     
    PERRIN-WHEATON CHAPTER –NSDAR
    Essay contest. Applicants will also need to document school activities, volunteerism, and employment.
     
    PINEDA MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
    Applicants should have been a member of either of the softball, baseball, or soccer team for three years.

    Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 and plan to enter the field of education. They also need to have taken a minimum of one non-required business course.

    Available to current members of our local Skills USA chapter and who plan to go on to either a college or technical school.
     
    STEPHANIE JOSEPH MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
    Applicants need to demonstrate a strong desire to continue academic pursuits in the face of hardship and adversity.
     
    SOCIETY OF AUTOMOTIVE ENGINEERS
    Multiple scholarships available to students who plan to earn a degree in engineering or a related science.
     
    SONS OF CONFEDERATE VETERANS
    Applicants need be a descendant of a male who served honorably in the Army, Navy, Judicial, Executive, or Civil Service of the Confederate States of America.
     
    TOWNSHIP OFFICIALS OF ILLINOIS
    Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0. Applicants must have a history of extracurricular activities that demonstrate a willingness to accept leadership responsibility, social consciousness, and a willingness to serve the community.
