Challenge National Site
Fed Challenge is an academic competition between
teams of 5 high school students (grades 11-12) who present proposals
to a team of judges. These judges are selected by the Federal
Reserve System, or the United States central bank system.
The students are expected to present an analysis
of the current state of the U.S. economy and also a policy recommendation
for the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC). The judges evaluate
the teams based on several factors, such as the following;
- Teamwork
- Knowledge of Federal Reserve System, policy, and economic
conditions
- Response to questions concerning project
- Research and analysis depth
- Presentation Quality
After participating in the district competition,
one Fed Challenge team will continue to the national competition,
held in Washington D.C.
