Fed Challenge

Fed Challenge National Site

Fed Challenge is an academic competition between teams of 5 high school students (grades 11-12) who present proposals to a team of judges. These judges are selected by the Federal Reserve System, or the United States central bank system.

The students are expected to present an analysis of the current state of the U.S. economy and also a policy recommendation for the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC). The judges evaluate the teams based on several factors, such as the following;

  • Teamwork
  • Knowledge of Federal Reserve System, policy, and economic conditions
  • Response to questions concerning project
  • Research and analysis depth
  • Presentation Quality

After participating in the district competition, one Fed Challenge team will continue to the national competition, held in Washington D.C.
