Hello, my name is Cynthia. I am the fourth child of six children. I was born on Dec. 14 1983, in Woodridge Illinois. I have lived in Illinois ever since. I am not quite sure what college I plan to attend next year, but I plan to major in phycology.
I consider myself a republican because I agree with most issues on the right side of the spectrum. For instance, I believe that in a demacratic society, society should deal with their personal problems before the Gov. steps in. I believe that each state can handle their own problems to the extent they can, without help, until needed. That goes along with my thinking that state Governments should hold more power than the Federal Government. States should be in charge of what laws they feel are right for their perticular state. Personal issues should be in the hands of those who understand and live it as well, which is why state gov. should hold more power.
One issue I feel very strongly about is the issue of abortion. I believe that abortion is wrong, and rape does not even justify abortion. I think that the child, however small, should not be punished for being created. If a person is raped and gets pregnant, then they should just have the baby and give it up for adoption.
My name is Kurt. I live and grew up in Carol Stream. I went to Evergreen school for 1st-4th grade, and Benjamin Middle School for 5th-8th grade. I am a senior now, and when I graduate I want to go to a good business college. I'm thinking about going to Northern Illinois University. For 6 years, I've been on a swimming team. Last year I went to the state competition. This year I hope to go again and hopefully place. I will be on relays that should go to State as well. My girlfriend is Brittany. We've been going out for the majority of high school.
I am a moderate republican. I think that criminals need to be more thoroughly punished. We try to treat them so well that prison isn't such a threat. I don't agree with the death penalty though. There should be separate prison systems for certain kinds of criminals. Those who commit murder or rape or crimes of that sort should be in one prison system, which is very strict with no provided luxuries, and other minor criminals should be in another where they are rehabilitated. Parole for good behavior should be stopped. You should serve your sentence, the whole thing. Just like the phrase, "you do the crime, you've got to do the time." Because of that view, I am republican, but for abortion, I am pro-choice, but with some restrictions. Partial birth abortions shouldn't be allowed. Citizens who are sexually active shouldn't just assume that it doesn't matter if they get pregnant because they can get an abortion, abortion shouldn't be a birth control method.
I also believe that some of our freedoms can be bent a little in order to maintain safety. We as a country obviously need this. Think about the recent act of terrorism. If terrorists can sneak knives and box cutters onto a plane in order to take it over, we are not doing enough to protect our citizens. I realize that many people are all about having privacy, but allowing privacy in some situations is much worse than violating it. One very controversial issue is racial profiling. I think it is ok, but only in certain situations. If we know that a Muslim committed the disastrous event at the WTC and the Pentagon, then the U.S. government should be allowed to profile people because of their ethnicity in order to find the people in charge of this. People seem to think that if you are profiled that you are arrested for something you didn't do, but that's not what it is. If you look suspicious and fit the profile, you might be stopped on the street or pulled over while in your car. The cops would ask you what you are up to, and perhaps ask to search your car. The racial profiling would only be bad if you have done something wrong. If you haven't done anything wrong, you shouldn't have anything to worry about. Racial profiling causes a minor inconvenience in order to keep every citizen safe. This would only be acceptable during an event like the one on September 11th. In a time of peace, you couldn't pull over every person of a certain race for no reason.
BILLIE S. Moderate Republican
Hi! Im Billie and Im a gemini. Welcome to my web page I was born in hinsdale IL. I am 18 yrs old.I am part Italian and part czech. I am not currently Employed but in the past I have modled and worked with my dad at his construction company. I plan to go to COD (college of dreams!) and then transfor any where warm (think University of Florida). II. As of now I just hang out with my friends and play with my beatiful little sister Christina. Some day in the future I plan on having a gorgouse husband and live in a huge loft in new york and maybe kinda somday have A child (Dameon for a boy or Gwenyth for a girl)Im not quite sure about the job but I want to have a cosmotology liscence and major in fashion editing. III. I am on the right side of the spectrum but I am a very very MODERATE republican. And believe alot of the left sides issues. I believe in the death penalty If you kill someone I think you should be killed.I dont believe in Abortion If you are some dumb teenagers who forgot to use protection then I dont think you should be able to kill that baby to better your own life.I dont believe in sexual preference hate crimes because I think it will get out of hand.I could say someone beat me up cause Im tall or because Im blond and whos to say that that is or isnt a hate crime? If you harrass any one then you should face the same punishment as any one else.Im really right in the middle of the political spectrum leaning slightly to the right but after I pass goverment I dont plan on thinking about it anymore. One issue I feel very strong on is bringing church and state together. America is made up of all different religions and should have nothing to do with public schools (thats what private schools are for!).Just teach us then send us off. what you do at your house or church is your buisness and not your class mates.
KIMPHA C. Moderate Republican
I was living in an apartment in Glendale Heights for the first few years of my life. Then we moved into a duplex in Carol Stream where I attended Herritage Lakes Elementry School. A couple years later I moved into West Chicago into a new home. I attended Benjamin Middle School and am now attending West Chicago High School. I enjoy singing, dancing, camping, and road trips. I work at a dental office as a receptionist, an insurance handler, and as an assistant. I work full time over the summer and one to two days a week when school starts. In my lifetime, I have traveled out of the country twice. I visited Vietnam and Cambodia both for about a month each. After high school I plan on visiting Vietnam and Cambodia, then maybe attend North Central College or De Paul University. I'll probably go into computer art or the medical field.
I am a moderate republican because I agree with most issues of their issues. I am not 100% republican because I am Pro-choice when it comes to the topic of abortion. I believe that it is the mother's choice whether she wants to give up the baby or not. Despite that fact that I am a minority my self, I am more of a republican because I don't think there should be special aid for minorities, only because it could lead to further racism and hate. It will really divide the nation.
I am a republican because I feel the government should not regulate business what so ever. Businesses should be able to make their own prices and hire the workers they feel are best for the position. I also don't think the government should punish the wealthy who are successful, by taxing them more than those who were not successful. I am a republican because I believe in a flat tax society. A flat tax society is where everyone pays the same percent of taxes. By doing so, the people, whether poor or rich, would want to work harder in order to pay less tax. If the people work harder, then there will be better production, benefiting the economy. When economy goes up prices go down. Therefore, a flat tax would be perfect for a stable society. Progressive Tax, on the other hand, will make economy go wrong. Progressive Tax is where the rich pay more taxes and the poor pay less taxes. If that was the case then who would want to work? Taxes are bad, the gov. takes away our well earned money. If the rich are paying more taxes because they have more money, then they're not going to work as hard. Most of the rich people are those who own businesses such as Microsoft. Bill Gates has more money than he'll ever need. So, with all his extra cash lying around, he spends a whole lot on experimenting on new devices and programs to further advance our nation. In fact, he donated a couple million to schools located in the Chicago area to advance the students' education.
Born 1984, attends WEGO, lives in Winfield, likes Quading, likes computers, likes TV, likes food, likes the Simpsons, doesn't travel much, keeps to himself, works at target.
Sort of is leaning to the right, mainly in the middle of the political spectrum. Distribution of wealth is horrible, the rich are to rich and the poor to poor, and the gap keeps getting bigger. I think the money needs to go to the poor and then it will work its way through society. The way our government is set up now is good, states have some power but not the final say in things, and that's how I think things should be.
Abortion laws are fine how they are, gun control laws are fine how they are, taxes are ok where there at (no flat tax). Hate crimes should not exist, more money towards national defense and less towards 3rd world countries. Welfare is fine how it is, I'm all for the death penalty for those who intentionally murder others, rehabilitate those who will be put back out into society, but deprive them of privileges. That's about it for my political side.
Hi, my name is Brittany K. My birthday is April 15, and I was born in Wheaton, IL. I lived with my grandparents until I was 8 years old, and now I live in Carol Stream. I went to Emerson Elemantary School for K-2nd grade, Madison Elementary for 3-5th grade, Edison Middle School for 6th, Benjamin Middle for 7-8th grade, and I am in my last year here at We-Go. I have a 5 year old sister named Kelley and a 2 year old brother named Scott. I have a dog named Snickers and a kittie named Chloe. I love Kurt, I am very into turtles and I hate most sports. I am currently working with a chiropractor in St. Charles, right across the street from the mall. I definitely recommend to anyone to come in and get adjusted, cuz it feels so good! I plan to go to college after school, either Northern Illinois or University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. I want to major in elementary education. I would like to teach the 2nd or 3rd grade.
I am declaring myself a republican. Although I am very close to moderate, there are some issues that I feel strongly about that push me a little to the right on the political spectrum. One of these is the issue of federalism. I do not believe that a strong central government is always as effective as a smaller local or state government would be. There should be some issues that are handled strictly by state and local governments. The individual states know their people better and know what the people in that particular area need. The federal government would always have to find a mean somewhere in between what all the states need, and that is just not efficient and can cause huge problems for states that do not land somewhere close to that mean. Another issue I feel strongly about is our dealings in foreign affairs. I believe it is the government's job to look primarily at what the U.S. needs. The strength and balance in America itself should be the top priority, not what other countries need or what we think that other countries should do. I also agree with the republican view on taxes. I believe that people who make more money should not be penalized by having higher taxes. I think that there should be a flat rate for everyone, a certain percent of taxes taken from a person's income.
One of the more detailed issues that I agree with on the republican side is on the issue of abortion. I am pro-life. I believe that there should be restrictions put onto when a woman can and can't have abortions. Abortion should not be used as a form of birth control. It should be outlawed, with only 3 exceptions: danger to the mother, in cases of rape, and in cases of incest. If a woman becomes pregnant and does not want the baby, they can always be given up for adoption. Another issue that I feel strongly about is gun control, although I am on the democratic side of this topic. I believe that it should be a lot harder for people to obtain guns. There are so many shootings that happen. Innocent people are caught in the crossfire between gang shootings all the time. I understand the "right to bear arms" and the need for people to be able to defend themselves, but a lot of the guns that people own are used to do bad things rather than good and the government needs to restrict this so that not so many people are shot and killed on a daily basis. I am on the republican side on the issue of foreign aid. I believe that the U.S. should not be handing so much money out to other countries when we still have people here that need help. We could be helping ourselves out of our national debt by saving the billions of dollars that we give away each year to help other countries. The U.S. needs to put itself first for once and take care of what needs to be done here before handing things out to other countries.
HI!!!!, My Name is Patrick and I'm 17 years old. I live In Hanover Park for sins I was born to 8 or 9 years old I don't remember. Now I have lived in West Chicago for the remaining years. At the age of 1 I went to L.C. Jonsien School to the age of 8 or 9. Then I moved so I went to Wagner and West Chicago Middle School. Now I go to West Chicago High School. I have two Brothers Nick and Kevin Nick being the olds. He goes to NIU. My younger brother is a (soft) in West Chicago High School. I plan to major in computer programming for college.
I am a democrat and I am not a strong democrat. I agree with most of the issues on the right then the left. I agree that the government should more power in the marking. I think that the marking should be able how much they want to pay and the rules of marking. I also think that food stamps and welfare should be band. We don't need them. Well we do do but people tack it as granted. I think for some people can have it. If marking had there own rules I think there might be a different amount in pay. I also see way we do because they might lower there pay.
I think we should help our country before other nations. We need to help ourselves before other countries. I think the welfare program is a waste of time. Most of the people take advantage of. Welfare needs to be held back but not band.
Hi, my name is Steve B and I was born on November 12, 1983 at Central DuPage Hospital. I am now 17 years old and a senior at West Chicago CHS. I have lived in the same home in Winfield IL for my whole live. Before high school I graduated from Winfield Elementary and prior to 7th grade I went to St. John the Baptist. I am a Republican because I believe that the government should be able to what ever it takes to keep America safe for everyone. The police do not have enough control over what is happening in the neighborhoods that they patrol. These people put their lives on the line everyday to try to help people and they can not even agree to be searched. What difference does it make if you do not have anything to hide, them what's the problem? One of the main points that I agree with is that people should be able to own a gun if they want to. I do not thing that the government should be able to take that right away. People need to protect themselves from horrible people in the world. If and intruder came into your home, armed with a gun how would you stop him if you did not have a gun??
Hi my name is April R. I was born at Geneva Community Hospital. I lived in Batavia, Illinois for about 2 years and then moved to West Chicago for kindergarden through fourh grade. I moved to North Aurora for 2 1\2 years. Then, I moved back to West Chicago for middle school and all of my high school years. I have 2 older sisters, Tricia and Heather R. I also have a younger brother, Robert who is a freshman. I live with my stepdad and my mom. My real dad lives in Florida with his mom, his new wife, and his kids. He is a truck driver for mostly the United States. I've seen him about 3 times in my life. My best friend is Sarah G who is a senior at west chicago. We've been best friends for four years, and my boyfriend is Chris Z,and has been for about a year now. He graduated last year. When I grow up, I want to be a fashion designer or a flight attendent for the United States.
I am pretty much a strict Democrat. I believe that we should have a progressive tax instead of a flat tax. If we have a flat tax, I beleive that it would only benefit the rich and further burden the poor. Instead of taking a small amount of taxes out of the poor's paychecks that they can barely afford, we should raise the amount that only the rich can live with. I beleive that the main power should be given to the federal government. I think that the states shouldn't have individual powers. We are the United States, not 50 different states with a bunch of different laws. We should all work together to make a bigger power with all of the same basic laws. I also beleive that their should be government regulations of the market place. There needs to be unions and minimum wage.
I am pro-choice! I believe that a woman should have a choice to have an abortion. It is her body and she can do what she wants with it. I strongly believe that there should be stricter gun control. If there is a law against guns, unless needed, it will lower death rates. I believe that poor people and rich people should be treated equally. Poor people should have a chance to succeed as well as the rich. I also believe in the death penalty. If a person is convicted of murdering someone they should be put to death. I don't think they should be put into a government facility that citizens pay for. I also believe that the government shouldn't put so much money towards the army. They should put more money towards the national debt.
My name is Rebecca P. I was born in Hinsdale. My traveling experience is all the way to Wisconsin. So I have been nowhere ever. Maybe when I get bigger I will be able to. I grew up in West Chicago. I have attended Turner elementary school and West Chicago Middle School. I don't really have all that much time to do anything. So I have no real hobbies unless you count Chris and sleeping. I have worked at Gina's Pizza for a year. At one point I had two jobs the other one was Fannie Mae. After I finish high school I want to attend college but I have no clue as to which one. I have been interviewed by Elmhurst College and the Florida Flight Academy. I can forget about the Florida Flight Academy well that is what my mom says. Who knew flight attendant would be so risky.
When I took the spectrum test I was placed to the right. I hardly agree with anything that is on the right. Which I believe makes me a moderate democrat. The reason for me being a moderate democrat is because there are many views I do agree with on the democrat side and strongly disagree with on the republican.
To make me moderate there are some things that I don't really agree with all the way. The governments place on dealing with society's problems I think should be with the people in mind. The government shouldn't be thinking what is easier for them to do to help society, but to see what would make the people's lives easier. When it comes to distributing wealth I believe everyone should be able to get a piece of it. A decent piece something that a family could live of off. I don't believe that any of the children should have to suffer because of low-income jobs. I do believe you shouldn't take from the wealthy because some worked to get there. To take it away would be unfair. I think a stronger federal government would benefit the states but I don't believe that all the power should absolutely the federal government. When it comes to the major issues like profit and distribution of wealth it should go the national government. When setting like circumstances on abortion that should be up to the federal government. When it comes to the issue of censorship I don't think there should be any censorship on music. The artists wrote it using certain words so they want those words to be heard. I do believe that the internet should be censored because sometimes-younger kids log on. Kids shouldn't be looking at certain things or chatting with certain people. The issue of crime I believe whatever the full-length punishment for your crime is you must do. There shouldn't be any people getting away with things. I think if people are in prison they should be drug tested and treated with therapy to insure when they come back on the streets they have improved on their lives. On the left side I agree with pro-choice. It is completely a woman's choice not the governments. Also to the left on the spectrum they believe that domestic violence should be ended as soon as possible. Left side is looking into stricter laws. I think domestic violence is overlooked most of the time. It shouldn't be something brushed off. Another issue is the death penalty I agree with having it. I know if someone killed my family member or my friend I would not be satisfied with someone just sitting in jail. They think they have the right to take a life,so they should loose the right to live. So as of this point I do lean way more to the left. With all of the views I have I believe that leaves me as a moderate democrat.
Hello! My name is Antonio G. but I insist you call me Tony. I've been to many schools around Texas like Dallas and Amarillo. Later in life my parents decided to move to West Chicago where my uncle lived. I've been here ever since. My nationality is Mexican and Honduran. I am very proud of it too, so if you really want to make me mad just go ahead and make fun of my culture. For fun I love to dance and I also like sports and music, I am also thinking of going to college at Florida State University so that I can major in Audio Engineering.
I believe that I'm a moderate democrat. My views on the ways that the government spends money is that they should use money to help clean up our country. For example, they should help homeless people get right back on that horse that they fell off of because of financial problems.
I'm also a moderate democrat because I believe in rehabilitation for people in jail, and in politics the democrats do fight for that bill to go through. I also believe that flat taxes are wrong because if you set an amount of what they have to pay and they can't make that much in a year then that person is in debt to the country.
Hello my name is LiliaV.I was born in Westlake hospital in Melrose Park, IL. I was born Sept. 11 1983. I have traveled to a lot of places. I have been to Mexico, Texas, Florida, Las Vegas, Canada, Georgia and Wisconsin. I like to collect tiggers from whinnie the pooh. I have more than 20 different tiggers. I also like to colllect Jay-Z posters or pictures anything from him. I like to read and act. I have been in plays for 3 years for French class. I also like to write. I'm graduating early this January and going to Las Vegas for one semester in college. Then for 4 years in UNLV. I hope to become a pediatric nurse. I'm a moderate Democrat. I belive that the governtment should help the poor people that have to get help.I belive that the government should help people that have no jobs to find a job. They should also help people that have no place to live find a place to live or at least a shelter. The government should help out a little more. The government should get involved, they shouldn't just let anyone do whatever. They should help out with the worlds problems. I belive that the state government shouldd help anyone that needs the help out. Instead of just being everyone defend each other. I belive in the right to abortion. I belive anyone should have the right to do anything to there bodies that they belive it's the right choice. I belive that if they think than have an abortion is better than bringing a kid in to the world and letting starve is better than go right ahead. I'm also against the death penalty because I belive that the person that commited a crime should suffer more than just die. I Belive that the person they raped or something like that isn't going to be the same person for a long time or maybe never. I belive that taxes should be taken away from the rich to be given to the poor. The people that have the low waged jobs shouldn't pay the same as the people that live in the rich life. They should decrease the taxes for the poor and they should take more from the rich people.
Let me tell you about my personal history. I was born here in Illinois on December 2, 1983. Both my parents were born in Mexico and they have been living here more than 25 years. I have traveled to California, Michigan, Wisconsin, Texas and Colorado. I have been to Mexican so many times that I have lost count. During my free time I love hanging out with Corey Coleman. (he told me to say that). I work at Wine Serge. NO! it is not a place where they sell wine they sell insurance. After high school I plan on going to school to persue a career as a financial advisor.
I am a democrat. The reason I consider myself a democrat is because I fall on the left side of the spectrum on most issues. I also think that a democrat is more open to social diversity and change and I agree with that 100 percent. My view on abortion is that a women has a right to chose what she wants done to her body. I may not personally agree with abortions but I believe that a women has the right to choose because it is her own body. I also agree with the progressive tax. I think that this is the most fair way of taxing people. If you think about it how are you going to charge the same rate of taxes on a family that makes 25,000 a year compared to a family that makes 200,000 a year? How would you know what would be fair to charge on taxes? Also with the money that the government makes from taxes benefits everyone not just the poor. Gay and lesbian rights are rights that should be practiced everywhere in the U.S. not just in some states. Stricter gun control laws should also be set up. I don't think that peoples guns should be taken away I just think that they should be properly registered and there should be restrictions on people that can obtain guns. Another issue that puts me on the left of the spectrum is that i beleive in animal rights and the protection of the enviroment.
The issues that concertn me personally is the distrubution of welfare in our society. I think their should be a time limit on how long people are on welfare. Another issue that concers me is immigration and how it is being handled in our country.
I was born in CDH on January 24, 1984 along with my twin brother, Franklin. My favorite movies are Traffic and Forrest Gump. After High School I would like to go to college but I dont know where yet. I like to hang out with my friends, watch movies, camp and go shopping.
I believe that I am a moderate Republican. I think that there should be less government involment on some issues and more individual freedom for the U.S. citizens. I think that you should make your money by working hard for it. America is the land of oppurtunity and freedom if you work hard for it. I also think the state should fund its own problems, its the states problem if there is a flood or tornado, the state should help fund the problem. I also think there should be money set aside for very disastrous problems. Each state should be prepared if anything happens.
I believe that abortion should be only a womens right. The women is rhe only person who is going to be having the baby, so I think it should be all her decision. Her partner could have a say but when it all comes down to it I think, It is the womens choice. I also think that the womens insurance company should help say if the women decides to have a abortion because it is a medical procudure nad should be covered. I dont think the goverment should decide what you can and cannot do. Even though im a Republican, I believe that the goverment should pay farm subsides to help pay for the crop they didnt sell. For example, if a farmer sells only $3 an acre of corn but only sells $1 acre of corn then the goverment should pay the difference. Farms help define our country and I think the giverment should help them out.
Now there is a young man named Matthew H. He was born in the early afternoon in Illinois on July 19th, 1983. He has lived in Carol Stream, IL for as long as he can remember, and has for the most part enjoyed his time here on earth. Since a very early age Matthew has enjoyed turning to the realm of fantasy for relaxation, be it in the form of video-games with himself or friends, or role-playing in the form of Dungeons and Dragons, or perhaps even writing poetry or essays on the meaning of life. His greatest interest of all, perhaps, is psychology. He plans to major in it in college. He has finally decided to take a Psychology class in his high school. He has claimed to be interested in psychology since the sixth grade, and has managed to incorporate psychology in his thoughts, words, and overall life. As a result, he has an oddly mixed approach to life, and understands himself well. Serious and focused on school, he is usually cheerful and humorous with friends. Usually quiet, reserved, and thoughtful, he can often come out and be more sociable than he gives himself credit for, an icy attitude easily replaced by a warm and interested demeanor.
I believe that the government should protect federal wildlife reservations from the interests of greedy humans, and that a federal government should make the preservation of nature a part of its business. I believe that the government has no business whatsoever in trying to dictate people's sexual and reproductive preferences. I believe that the government has no right to enforce morals or religion on anyone, be it in the schools or the workplaces, be it at the hospitals or at weddings. For all these things, then, I am a firm believer in pro-environment preservation, pro-choice on abortion, pro-separation between church and state, and for legal rights for homosexuals. ********Despite these views, however, I consider myself a conservative. I believe that a person is entitled to whatever money they can legally accumulate. I believe that it is the government's role to ensure that there is no domination in the market by any one company, but otherwise a person is entitled to the success they make for themselves. I believe that the local (state and city) governments can act far more effectively on issues that pertain to the local populace, that the people have a much greater effect on a local government and thus a more equal part in shaping the society they live in. I also believe that in this high-tech and dangerous world, the priority should be general safety rather than individual rights (within reason). I believe that the security and well-being of the people take precedence over the fanatical honoring of a person's individual rights.
I am of the belief that Affirmative Action fails at everything it was meant to accomplish. Affirmative Action can be called reverse-discrimination, limiting white-colored people who have no responsibility in past prejudices in favor of unfairly raising up people of certain characteristics that they have no control over. To many this seems like unfair favoritism that can actually SPARK prejudicial feelings in people who might otherwise not feel as inclined to judge others on the basis of skin color... because the government forces organizations to consider people on the basis of their skin color, the government indirectly causes and provokes racism. As to those being favored, they may be favored and despised for it. Some may not deserve or be qualified for the favor they receive, actually placing danger to the company and people they serve. While arguably Affirmative Action may "level the playing field" for some, the entire movement has been taken to unreasonable and unfair lengths.
Hi, my name is Darek and I run. I'm in cross-country and I enjoy it a lot. I was born on February 22, 1984 in a small hospital in Bialystok, Poland. I lived there until I was in second grade when we moved to America. After I graduate I hope to go to some college and then well...that's my plan so far. Go to college. Like it? I don't, I am a senior in high school and I still have no idea what I am going to do with my life. Hopefully I will find something sometime soon. Besides running I also like other things like music. Eventhough I am not musically inclined I do listen to many different types of music. My favorite bands right now are 311 and Sublime. They are both very good bands that play really good music. I also like some punk, alternative, and well country scares me. My two favorite movies ever are Clerks, and the Doors movie. Clerks is probably the funniest movie I have ever seen and the Doors has the greatest sound track ever.
I Darek Szyszko declare myself as a Democrat. My strongest beliefs all lie on the left side of the political spectrum. For example most liberal views like protecting students from dog locker searches I have strong beliefs in. I am pro-choice, against censorship, and I don't believe in the loss of personal rights for security. My strongest beliefs lie in social\politcal issues, and this is where most of my other strong beliefs come from. The bill of rights guarantees us all of our freedoms and I don't like it when people try to pass laws that will limit our freedoms. Almost all of the class issues I was on the democratic side. The quizzes that we have taken also pointed me towards the left side. All these things and more make me a democrat.
Strong beliefs: Ban censorship- our country promotes free speech however if you want to express it in basically any art form you are forced to censor yourself. This is hypocritical and should not be a part of our government. No Electoral College- technically the people are supposed to rule this country however this is not quite true. If the Electoral College were to decide on a different president then the people it would be a valid choice and we would be lead by a man that the majority of the population did not vote for. Gun Control- I am against it. Our constitution gives us the right to bear arms, however this right much like our freedom of speech, is being slowly stifled.
Hello! My name is Eugene K., but most people know me as Scott. I was born on November 14, 1983 at CDH in Winfield,Illinois. I lived in Carol Stream for two years then I moved to West Chicago for 15 years so far and probably more as I get older. I played Baseball when I was little for like 7 Years and then played one year of Football in High School.
I am a moderate republican, this is because I may believe in one or maybe two issuses on the other side of the political spectrum but mostly I am to the right of the political spectrum in most of the issues that we discuss.
One reason that I am a republican is that I am pro-life for abortion. I think that the only way for a women to have an abortion is if her life is in danger, and if she was raped, or there was a little insest going on which should not happen anyway. Another reason is that I am all for capital punishment. I believe that the person who committed the murder should be put to death, not just lethal injection but by how they killed that person or even worse.
AUDREY ELIZABETH M. Republican
I was born in Winfield IL. I have lived in West Chicago for my entire life. I work full-time at Osco in West Chicago. I have been working there for 2 years. I also play softball for a club team. I attend West Chicago High School where I am a senior. I have a brother and a sister. My brother is 3 years older and my sister is 4 years younger than me. We all live together with my mom and her husband.
I am a moderate republican. I am a republican because I believe in the right to bare arms. I also beleive in the abolishment of affirmative action. I also beleive in flat tax
The first reason I am a republican is because I believe in the right to bare arms. I think that if you take that right away you are giving the upper hand to the criminals who illegally have the guns. It is in the constitution that we have the right to bare arms. Why take that away. The second reason I am a republican is because I believe in the abolishment of affirmative action. I dont believe anyone should be granted anything for there race, religion, color, or sex. That is just adding to the discrimination problems we have. It is reverse discrimination in my eyes. It is discrimination against the white man. I also believe in a flat tax. People who earn more money earn it for a reason. Most of them dont even use any government programs.
Hi, my name is Priscilla S. I was born in Michoacan, Mexico on April 3,1984. I have two older brothers and one little sister. I came here from Mexico when I was seven. I lived in Chicago until my sophmore year then came here to West Chicago. Now, I am finally a SENIOR of West Chicago Community High School.
I am a Moderate Democrat. I believe I am a fair person because I can understand views from both parties. Therefore, I can sometimes agree or disagree on some issues of my party and the opposite.
I am interested in various issues. The most important issues
for me are abortion, immigration, and racism/discri- mination.
I believe abortion is wrong because it kills a human being, but
sometimes women have various acceptable reasons for aborting.
Immigration has always been a difficult issue, especially between
the U.S and Mexico. I'm interested in this issue because it involves
my people and the country in which I live in. A another issue
i am concerned with is dicrimination. This has been going on for
a long time now, whether is discrimination against race or sex.
