Hello my name is Javier A. I have lots of different talents. I work at a restaurant. I was born in Chicago Il. I'm still young. I went to Pablo Casals, Casiasco and Winfield Middle School. I have 3 sisters and they are annoying. I have chosen a side and it is cool. In my spare time i like to Boxing, play soccer, and play basketball if I'm bored out of my mind.
I have chosen to be a Republican. I'm about modern strict. I have the feeling that the people should not have the right to freedom of speech. Republicans are more old school and they have different believes then others. I feel that people would have the right to do what ever they want. We shouldn't have a large gov. it should be diminish. In profit the right side of the political spectrum is passionate about the right of business interest to make as much profit as they possible can. The school should the right to pray whenever they want. They should pass the law that people should own a gun.
The large Bureau is an inefficient mean to address society problems most issues are best dealt with the state and local level. We should have the right to cut down the welfare. I have given strong evidence that show that people are kind of different. I have gave you enough evidence to make you believe that my issues are right and that your issues are wrong.
Stevey D S was born at Du Page Hospital and has lived in Winfield
in the same house for most of his life. He is the third kid of
a balanced family of six. He likes learning and sports. He is
a geography bee winner and enjoys triathlons. He hopes to be a
rock superstar or a mapmaker. I am a moderate republican who believes
in strong compromise. I think the government should tax us less
and spend money on investments. I think the government should
be smaller. I think we should stop some of the distribution of
wealth. I also agree with democratic views because I always see
the two sides of the issue. Because in business
I think workers should form unions to get their money and rights.
I believe in Laissez-faire unless it's a local matter. I think
the marijuana law is worse then the herb. Its many advantages
outweigh the harm it has. Secondly marijuana should be used instead
of cigarettes because cigarettes aggravate, harm, and kill millions
of people. This would also- So help out desperate farmers, and
give the tobacco industry new jobs. Marijuana is only Illegal
because it's a gateway drug. Cars should have perpetual motion
engines. Magnets should be able to spin and stop the wheals as
so. I believe this because gas is in too much demand and too much
of anything is bad.
Thank you for visiting my homepage. In this page you will hear about me, what my interest are, hobbies, etc. After I am all done telling you about myself, then I will tell you about the political spectrum. I will tell you where I fit on the spectrum, why do I fit there, and how I feel about sitting on that side of the spectrum. My name is Jim. I am a senior at West Chicago High School and am currently attending Ms. Danniels American Government Class. I like the class and everything. Some of the things I like to do is go out places, do sports, driving my new car, etc. I don't like to do many things at home but if I am at home, I will watch TV, and sleep. Right now, I am currently working for a car dealership by the name of Saturn of Elmhurst. What I do there is move cars, count the money, and work on the computer. I like the job except for moving cars. I don't like moving cars because the other stores are real far away and I usually have to do that on a Friday after school is out. So now that you know things about me, I am going to now explain to you about the political spectrum and where I stand on it and why. The political spectrum is a "bar" that I like to call it, that tells you if a person is a Democrat or a Republican. On the left side of the spectrum, that is the Democratic side. On the right side of the spectrum, that is the Republican side. Now as for me, I am on the right side of the spectrum. I am a Republican. The reason that I fit on the right side of the spectrum is because, I like to see our tax cuts get lower and lower, I believe in free and fair trade, and I also believe other things that the Republican's believe. If you look at our 43 presidents, most of our presidents were Republican. Most of our Republican presidents, beleived in low tax cuts, free and fair trade, and other things. I like to see our government have a republican president running it. For example, Bush is a Republican and he says that we our getting 300-600 dollars cash back because our tax rates were to high. So that is why I fit on the right side of the spectrum. I believe that if you are on the rightside of the spectrum, many changes will be made in your favor. For example, on 9-11-01, the World Trade Centers were destroyed by terrorist. George W. Bush is a Republican and has decided to take affirmative action. He is defending for his country and he believes that we should fight for our nation. I think that it is the role of the government to stand behind the president.
ROCIO T. Republican
Hey everyone!!! I'm Rocio T. I'm a student in Ms. Daneel's 1st
hour class. I've come to this high school all four years. I have
also attended Lincoln School, Gary School and the West Chicago
Middle
School. I'm also a resident of West Chicago and have lived in
West Chicago for over 11 years. I was born in Mexico on August
30, 1983. I have three cats named Kyssa, Ebony, and Magic. I also
have three sisters and no brothers. I have no hobbies and will
be working at a child daycare center soon. I like to listen to
a wide range of music and going out. I plan on attending college
and studing child psychology. I'm probually going to go to NIU.
As far as the political spectrum goes I tend to lean towards the Republican side, but I'm also a moderate liberal. Being a minority and with Democratic parents I thought that I would be a Democrate also (guess I was wrong). The differance between my Republican and Democratic beliefs was pretty big. Three issues that I support are a smaller government, more state power, and taking care of the U.S. before helping other nations.
I feel that the federal government should give more authority to the state governments because the states have a better grasp as to what affects its people. I think that the federal govenment should still have the final say on issues dealing with money and any issue that might affect the U.S. as a whole. I also feel that the U.S. should aid other nations, when it affects the U.S. personal (resources, citizens, military and actual government). I feel that any crime committed should be looked at carefully and classified as accident or intentional. I'm against hate crimes having harsher punishments (and yeah you thought right I am a minority) simply because all crimes are just that crimes and with most crimes hate is a BIG part of the actions done to commit the crime. I am also pro-choice because I feel that a woman has the right to choose what she wants done to her body. I would prefer if abortions were only done in certain situations and not just to get rid of something that was not wanted in the first place. However if that woman can't afford that child and gets public aid many people will put down that woman for taking taxpayers money away. There is also a chance that the woman may be abusive to that child because they didn't want the child in the first place. I also feel that we should conserve our environment because without it's plants and animals we would not be able to survive. Sure you hear about animal attacks on TV, but most of the animals cannot distingush a human from prey. Most of the animals are also being spotted more in urban areas because people keep destroying their habitat.
I tend to be republican about issues that deal with the government and money and democratic towards the issues dealing with people. I don't like a flat tax because it's unfair to many people, yet I also don't think that the government should take so much from the working class. The government should come up with a new tax system that might be helpful for all. I think that if someone that is poor is willing to move up then they should not just sit around hoping to win the lottery, but go out there and work hard enough or go to school so that they are able have a higher position in their job or life. I strongly believe in reforming the minimal wage because with the changing times prices keep going up and pay checks stay the same.
I was born on December 20, 1983 in St. Charles, IL. Some hobbies I have are dirt biking and working on cars. I am interested in cars and plan to be a mechanic when I get out of high school. The party that I refer to is the Republican Party. When wealth comes into the aspect, I believe there should a flat tax on everybody's work pay check. I also believe that the U.S. should be concerned about the U.S. first before helping others. I also believe that the homeless should get of their lazy bums and get a job to pay for their liquor instead of the government paying for it. In the aspect of crime, I believe criminals should be taken care of and not be allowed to sit in good old luxury in jail. Censorship should remain were it is. I believe abortion should be dismissed and not aloud. The national debt would be greatly downsized if we stopped giving out money.
I am half-Mexican and half-American. I was born in the DuPage hospital, on June 3, 1984. I will be getting married on December of 2002, to a guy named Carlos. I love listening to music, especially cumbias. And also I love to dance, cumbias and bandas. My favorite subject is math and I hope to become a math teacher in the near future.
I am personally to the right, for the most part, on the spectrum. A few things that have clearly placed me on the right side are the issues of abortion, traditional values, capital punishment and pro-police for order.
I am very much for the death penalty, and the rights for the unborn child. I believe that if someone is man or woman enough to kill someone, then they should be man/ woman enough to die. I also believe that we need a stronger police force and harsher laws because of all the violence that we have in our town, state, and country. I think that it is completely necessary to have stricter laws that way people will think twice about breaking the law. Considering the hijackings that have occurred, now more than ever I believe that others will support stricter security laws, and more precautions
PERSONAL STUFF:My place of birth is West Chicago. My hobbies
include Japan and all of it's stuff (cartoons, comic books, music,
etc.) and making\playing video games. Although not to say that's
all I do. I work a lot, hang out with friends, and lose lots of
sleep. As far as expectations for the future, I would like to
go to Digipen Institute of Technology(tm) and become a video game
maker so I can make games and get rich. (yay richness!) Other
than that I have no other expectations for the future (well besides
death and the government wanting my money).
POLITICAL AFFILIATION:I am a "moderate republican".
Although technically I'm neither "republican" nor "democrat",
our rules committee was a bunch of mean people and voted against
the third, independent party which just totally screwed me over,
but what else is new. So anyway, since I had to be something,
I'm a "moderate republican" since some of my views are
"democratic" while others are "republican".
Some of my "democratic" views include no censorship
and foreign trade. While I really don't care about most of the
world, most of my hobbies come from Japan, so really I don't care
about foreign trade as long as we still get stuff from Japan.
My "republican" views include lenient gun control and
small (preferably no) government. Also my view on immigration
is "republican". I believe that immigration should be
more monitored and restricted.
ISSUES: Here are some specific issues and my views on them....
Gun control- I believe that a gun in the wrong persons hands is a deadly thing, however it is still everyone's right to own a gun. Therefore I believe there should be some background checks but everyone should have a chance if they want it. Censorship-censorship is bad because it's kind of like sweeping all of the dirt under the rug. You don't actually get rid of the "problem" you just cover it up for the black market to exploit. Also it's the parents responsibility to stop their children from seeing what they deemed "unsuitable".
Welfare-welfare is way too abused to be of any use anymore. It's just killing morale now.
Hi my name is CHRIS I like to bake and go fishing with my friends. I was born in Yuma Arizona. My dad was in the army so we traveled a lot when I was a kid. I lived in Germany for four years. In the future I would like to open my own bakery after college.
I am a moderate republican. I think that government should be smaller and people & state should have More control. I also think our government should worry about its self and not so much about other counters. I also think we need to stop giving money to people that don't have jobs and send all the illegal immigrants back to wear they came so we can have more job opportunities.
I feel that abortion is up to the parent not the government. I also feel that we should use the death penalty more because if we don't our jails will fill up and we will not have room for others.
Hi my name it's Erika V.I was born in Loyola hospital in Melrose Park IL, on July 12 1984.I was leaving in El Paso Texas and I barely moved to West Chicago a year ago, I don't have I lot of travel experiences the place that I travel the most it's Las Vegas Nevada, Texas and Mexico. I don't like any sport's and one of my expectations for the future it to become a dentist. I like being by my self, I don't really like people around me and I love music most of the time I leanest to the radio. I am a democrat I believed that the government should help the poor people, by taking off more taxes from the rich and give some of that money to the poor. I think that the government has to get more involved in the society and they have to give more space (liberty) to the people, they should let everyone do what they want, once they don't get in trouble with the justice. I believe that freedom its one of the most important things that we have in our country and I think it's one of the biggest characteristics the represent United States this is what I believe as a democrat.
I was born in Guadalagara, Mexico, I went to school for about three and half years. I move to West Chicago about nine years ago. Went I get out of the High School I thinking of going to COD and study Child Care or a Pre-School, or a Kindergarten teacher. After getting my degreed I hope to find other career that I would like to do.
I am a modern democrat their some laws that I agreed to and some that I don't agreed to. Their should be laws that people should follow to have order in society as well as people should have freedom to speak out. I said government should help people but, there should be laws were people would take abashed of that help government gives to. Society needs to have order but as people we should have privacy and treat fairy as anybody else in the Unite State. Theirs no way why people should be stop for racial profiling because cops don't just stop you, but they make you feel worthless sometimes they got to the point were cops used their power to physically abuse people. States should have their own laws and be themselves but at the sometime federal government should make sure that they are doing the right thing. I believe that people should have freedom to change the government if they don't like the way the government rules. Is good to make changes to our government and since we are always changing and have new ideas, sometimes is necessary to have changes. To have new laws for dose new ideas to or bent the law we already have to make sure we are safe. I think that is very important to have freedom as person.
I believe in Pro-choice women has the right to choose if she what to keep her baby or not in but I think that only the mother should have the last word no matter how old she is. Mother should take her own risk and doctors should explain every details their is to have the baby or if she is going to have an abortion not only tell how its going to be but what could happen to the mother and the baby. I believe that criminals should be punished in what they do in a fair way and to make sure that right person is pay for the right crime and find later on that it was not the right person. I also believe that crimeless should have a right to have school and have help from someone so they can at least know that the world has change and their diffren rules to that world. To prepare them went they get out and stared all over again. I also believe that there should be more way to save our environment because animals need a home the same way people need a home. Government should know that animals have right as well as humans. That we need to save dose in danger since on gone they are going to be gone for ever and their a lot future head of us by helping dose in need because they also help us to not over populate by only on species. The government should help other countries maybe some day we will need help from does countries you never know. I also believe that sometimes government gets to much in other countries busy we should help but not to much. Government should help if they really need help if people are starving or need medical attention if that people need help.
Hiya! It looks as though you have stumbled upon my special government home page! You can call me Katie, or Kate if you REALLY feel the need, and I'm 17. I was born and raised in the luxurious town of Winfield. (Does that excite you as much as it does me? Heh, it shouldn't.) I was born on February 20, 1984 at CDH. Throughout high school I've been involved in many activities such as Forensics, Thespians, German Club, and Key Club. This year I've added a couple things to my agenda like Horticulture Club and I've also become a Peer Tutor. As if that wasn't enough, my friend Dana and I are working hard to create the first ever We-go TV show. My life outside of school includes spending time with my friends, writing, reading, and talking online yadda yadda. As for my future, well, in a nutshell I'm going to attend a college in Illinois and major in Theatre/Directing/Film/Writing.. Something like that! Well that's probably a lot more than you wanted to know, so I digress.
My position on the political spectrum is the far left. Aside from a few issues, such as abortion, I agree with the liberal views on most everything. I think there should be a strong central government in order to keep the country united in more ways than land proximity. There are many issues that would be solved more quickly if the federal government handled them instead of each state fending for itself.
I believe the rights of Gays and Lesbians should be enforced. If everyone has the right to believe in their own religion or to free speech, who do we think we are trying to take away their rights as well? We're all human beings. I am also against the Death Penalty. Our country agrees that premeditated murder is immoral and against the law. However, exceptions are made for criminals? I don't think so. It's all or nothing.. at the moment we are being hypocrites. It would be more beneficial to rehabilitate these people; or sentence them to a life in prison. Death is the easy way out. Aside from this, there have been many cases in which convicted criminals awaiting the death penalty were later proven to be innocent. It's too big a risk to even jeopardize ONE human life. Until the system is fool proof, chances shouldn't be taken.
I work at the DuPage airport. When I'm not working, I watch TV or paintball. I would have to say that I'm to the left of the spectrum because I agree with the ideas that are considered liberal. I think that the government should take a more active role in regulating big business so that the poor do not get any poorer and the rich don't take advantage of them. I also believe in marginal taxation because it hurts each class of people instead of the poor and middle class. I think that it is a woman's choice in what she wants to do with a pregnancy, but to a certain extent. I also believe there should be at least a thorough background check if someone wants to purchase a firearm; especially if they want to buy an assault rifle.
My name is Latasha .W. I grow in West Chicago I have lived here for 8 years. Before moving here I lived in Chicago for 9 years. I am 17 years old and live with my mom and step dad. I have four brothers and two sisters. Things that I like to do for fun is go to the mall, movies, dances and play basketball with friends.
I am a Democrat because they are for the people and they care about the people and not just them selves. They also are for helping people that are in need. Like using the money that they have to help people pay for things and get things that they cant get on their own. Like public aid and medical care we need things like that so that we can help the people in stead of helping our self like most of the people on the right think we should. They spend money on enviable things and that's not right in fact it very wrong and self centered. I also think that they don't think things through all the way they don't care about people's feelings or what they think.
The government should be for the people and for the Country. Every thing that the people on the right agree with I disagree with. Like when they say that a woman should not have an abortion. I think that it is the women's choice and her body to do what she wants to do. What if she was raped would they want her to still have the baby? Another reason that I am to the left is that I care more about the people's interest more than anything. I think that the people and what they think comes first. I am pro choice, for gun control, public aid, medical care and every thing that has to do with helping the people. And the people on the right I think just care about them selves and their money and I don't think someone like that should be head of our country.
JESSICA A. Moderate Democrat
My name is Jessica. I was born in Watsonville, California on November 27, 1982. I have lived all my life here in West Chicago. I live with my family we live in our own house for almost four years now. I'm the oldest of my sisters and brother. I'm planning on going to college to study police officer. My hobbies is listening to music and dancing to it, and also being with my friends.
My party affiliation is moderate democrat. There are some issues that I'm in the other side of the spectrum. That's why I'm moderate. I'm democrat.
I was born in St. Charles on April 20, 1983. I lived in West Chicago most of my life. In third grade I went to a private school in Roselle and in fourth grade I moved to Culver, Indiana and went to Culver Elementary School. In fifth grade I moved back to West Chicago and have lived there ever since. I am currently 18 years old and work at True Value Hardware where I've worked for the past two years. I plan to go to college for computer art because I enjoy drawing on the computer. I am currently taking Computer Art at WCCHS to learn how to use Adobe Photoshop.
I am a Republican. I think that the federal government is too big and that the state government should have more power. The state government can better decide what the state's needs are and adjust and make laws accordingly. I also agree that any money you make you are entitles to, which is a republican view.
I think that capital punishment is something we should use and work upon. Instead of people wasting away in jail for there entire life we should just put them to death. What is the point in wasting tax dollars on something that can be solved in a few minutes. I also believe that the state governments should have more power. The state government would better be able to represent their people.
CARL P. Republican
My name is Carl. I was born at Central Dupage Hospital in Winfield,
IL on October 26, 1983. Some of the states ive visited are Florda,
Arizona, San Francisco, South Carolina and Indiana. My hobbies
include collecting sports memrebilia, Watching and going to Cubs
games, and hanging out with my girlfreind. After highschool i
dont really know what i want to do. I could go to college or i
could work full time. I dont really know yet what im going to
do. Right now im takeing things day by day.
I am totally a republican. Most of my views are agreeing with what republicans believe in. On some occasions i agree with the democratic side but most of the time i agree with the republican side. On all of our debates in class i have agreed with all of the republican view points in every debate except for one time.
I love expressing my opinion about everything. On crime i think that we should have stricter penaltys, more jails and more cops. On poverty i think that those people should just get off there butt and do some work to make money. I am totally for abortion, the girl who gets pregnant should have a major say if she wants to have the baby or get an abortion. For environmental issues i am totally for the state keeping there environment up to par and not have the government put money towards some other states problems. I totally think there should be a restriction on immigration cause i think the worlds already over popullated, so there should definatly be restrions on who can come over here and who cant. And finally i am totally for the death penalty. But i think the death penalty is to easy of a way out. People who kill other people should definatly get the death penalty but in a worse way. Like bring back the electric chair and start hanging the killers. Now adays people can just get a shot in there arm and die which is way to easy of a way to die. The people that kill other people should definatly suffer.
JOHN S. Democrat
Hi, my name is John P. S. I am 17 years old and currently enrolled
at West Chicago Community High School. I was born at Gotlieb Memorial
Hospital in Melrose Park, IL. Currently I live in Carol Stream
and I previously went to Benjamin Middle School. When I am not
at school I am usually at Family Foods in Carol Stream where I
am employed. My extracurricular activity at school is speech team
in which I do extemporaneous speaking.
Several issues going on in the United States today concern me. First of all our crime rate is way too high. Also the shooting at and killing of our nations police officers is happening too often. We have to have better gun control on our streets. The situation of gun control is way out of control, we have too many guns on our streets. Secondly, the idea of capital punishment (death penalty) is outrageous. We are a civil society, we have no right to decide on who dies and who doesn't. Capitol Punishment is also an easy way for criminals to get out of their punishment, guilt and to be forced to live with their wrong actions.
I strongly believe that we should work on inner city schools.
My name is Carly A. I was born in Winfield, Illinois, and I've lived there for my entire life. I also have a house in Wheaton with my mom. My hobbies include music, art, and doing stuff with my friends. I have two cats- Simon, and CJ, and no, I'm not named after Carly Simon, and Carly Simon played no part in my desicion to name my cat Simon. So. That seems to be the required gist of this. I play lots of instruments (four being a lot) and I'm currently in marching band (later to be symphonic band and pep band), jazz band and the orchestra. I play the flute, the baritone, the string bass, and am currently learning the bass trombone. I'm planning on going to college next year, and I'm thinking it'll be in Iowa (I like to live on the edge) with (I guess) a double major in foreign language and education, with a minor in music (this will probably change). I generally try to stay out of politics, but I do have some strong beliefs, I just don't like to argue with people about them. So, that's a general overview of what you need to know.
There was really only one major reason I chose the Republican Party. I found my opinions divided on many of the major issues that are supposed to help define where you lie on the political spectrum. So, when party declaration day came around, I was in a bit of a panic. But, my eventual reason was, when I stepped back and looked at one of the major beliefs of the party, which was smaller government. I decided that I agreed with that over the democratic belief in a larger government.
There are several political issues about which I feel strongly. I am a strong supporter of freedom, and I feel that we have minds of our own, and that we should be able to make choices for ourselves, instead of the government making choices for us. I am pro choice as far as abortion goes. I don't condone it, but I feel that even if I don't like it, that's not going to be the case with everyone. And I respect that others have different views, so I think that with an issue as important as this, the individual should have the right to choose their own course. I think that something should be done to aid the poor of our country, but I believe that it should not be done as a penalty to those more fortunate (Be punished for getting ahead?!). Another issue I feel strongly about is gun rights. I am against making more laws that restrict the purchase and use of firearms. I think that before we start on another volume of ineffective gun laws, we should at least try to enforce the ones we have. Studies have shown that when gun laws are enforced better in areas with a lot of crime, the crime rate goes down. I also feel it's a bad idea to make more gun laws, because these mainly hinder the law-abiding gun owners, who follow all these laws. After all, if I'm going to commit a crime with a gun, do you really think I'm going to go out of my way to follow gun laws? I think not.
I was born on May 22, 1984 and I am the youngest of three.
I live with my mom and dad in Carol Stream. I have lived there
my entire life. I also live with two cats, Abby and Seeker, plus
five fish, Leia, Liam, Rosie, Spot, and Little One. My brother
Dan has been married to Tammy for two years. My sister Katie married
Brian a year ago. When I go on vacation, my parents and I go to
Walt Disney World. In my
spare time I enjoy writing stories and reading. I enjoy reading
books by James Patterson. My favorite movies are the Star Wars
trilogy and X-men. My favorite Disney movies are Sleeping Beauty
and The Little Mermaid. My favorite school subject is English.
I plan on going to college and studying to be a high school English
teacher.
Throughout the class discussions, it seems that I am a Republican. One republican view is that there should be a flat tax. I agree with this. Someone in class made a good point that, why should someone be punished for working hard and making a lot of money? I also do not think it would be fair to decide who pays more or less. I do not think that is an easy decision to make. Where is that cut off line and how do you decide what is enough money to live on? It is not fair to be penalized for doing nothing wrong. Another republican view that I agree on is the death penalty. I thing that if you kill, you should be killed. If you kill, you are probably too set in your mind that what you did is justified, that no amount of therapy will change your mind. Therefore, it would only be a waste of taxpayers' money to keep you in jail and try and change your mind. I think a lot of people would be happy to see a murderer killed. Not a lot of people have sympathy for people who take an innocent person's life. Going along with this, jail is supposed to be a place where you are punished. There have been reports of jails giving inmates catered rib dinners, cable TV, a gym to work out in, and other luxuries you might find in a country club. In what way is a person thinking about his crimes while watching a movie or eating ribs? They are thinking about how nice of a life they have. I do not see that as punishment. Prisons for punishment and the death penalty are both republican views that I agree with. Republicans feel that the power should belong in the states instead of the government. I believe that most of the power should be in the states. I feel this because a state has a better idea of what needs to be in order to make it a better state. States have a better grip of their own problems. However, there are the big issues that the government should handle, such as abortion and guns. I feel this because what is legal in one state, might not be in another. Therefore, in order to have an abortion, all you would have to do was go to another state. I think big issues should be government's problems. At the same time, states should be in control of what happens within their state. They should be able to come up with their own programs to make life better within their boundaries. As for political rights, I think that they should be put aside for safety. I think that you should be searched because if you have something to hide, it probably is something bad. I would rather put aside my ego and personal privacy in order to be safe. I have nothing to hide and I don't think others do either. I think the only place you should have privacy and personal rights, if you want to call them that, is in your home. That is your own private domain, any other place is public and everybody's business.
One touchy subject is abortion and I have a strong view on
that. I feel that it should not be allowed, except in extreme
cases. I don't think a person should use it in the case of "oops,
I'm pregnant." An abortion is not birth control, that is
what condoms and the pill are for. There are only three cases
that I can see an abortion. 1. Rape. One problem with this is
that how can you seriously prove the person was raped? Someone
who becomes pregnant might say she was raped in order to have
the abortion. In this case there needs to be proof of rape, like
signs of a struggle. 2. Incest. Incest is just wrong and nobody
needs to have the reminder of what happened. In this case and
the rape case, the woman had no say in what was going on. They
were the victim and should not have to carry that nightmare with
them. 3. The woman's life is in danger. If something goes wrong
with the pregnancy and she could die if the baby is born, then
there should be an abortion. But I think that in this case it
should be the last resort. Instead of an abortion, I think they
should have a c-section. The abortion should only happen within
the first few weeks. A c-section would give the child a chance
to live. If the child lives and you don't want it, give it up
for adoption. If the baby dies, at least it is more of a natural
death than abortion. Another subject that I believe in is censorship.
I personally do not enjoy listening to people swearing constantly.
I find that it is rude and offensive and I don't want a young
child flipping channels and stopping on one with swearing on it.
Censorship is a good way to deal with that. It allows the person
to say the words, without subjecting people to it. Nudity is another
thing that people should not have to watch. You can be as nude
and vulgar as you want, just don't make me watch it. If you don't
agree with censorship, then don't swear.
Hello, this is Jacki. I guess i have to tell you a little about
myself now. I have lived in Carol Stream all my life, 18 years.
My birthday is September 4th, 1983. My family consists of my mom,
dad, sister, Michele who is now a freshman, and our dog Ditto
who is 13. She is very old, doesn't like me unless i have food,
and can not hear, but I still like her!:) I am enjoying my last
year in highschool very much. Right now with is my favorite time
of the school year becasue I love going to football games, homecoming,
and playing golf with Courtney, Jessica, Leann and the reat of
the golf team. Even tough we are not that great we still have
fun. We go by the moto of "It doesn't matter how good you
play as long as you look good doing it!" Other things I enjoy
doing is shopping, haning out with friends, and traveling. After
highschool I
plan on going to college and University of Iowa or University
of Illinois in Chicago to become a Pharmicisit. Hopefully my plans
will work out. I am now just hoping to have fun my senoir year
with all my friends before we all go our seperate ways.
On the political specrum I am a moderate republican. Most of my views are republican but I also have some democratic views which makes my moderate republican.
There are many issues that define where I am on the political spectrum. First, I am against abortion. I do not think that it is rightin almost every sercumstance. The only time I think that it should be used is if the mothers life is in danger. Second, I do not think that we should have affirmitive action. Third, I think that we should cut back on immigration until the people that are in our country have jobs. We should not be letting people into the country when there are so many people in America that do not even have jobs. These three issues are the issues thatmake me a republican. A view of mine that makes me a moderate Repulican is that I tihnk that there should be more gun control. These views I have listed place me where I am on the political spectrum.
I said government should help people but, their should be laws were people would take abashed of that help government gives to. Society needs to have order but as people we should have privacy and treat fairy as anybody else in the Unite State. Theirs no way why people should be stop for racial profiling because cops don't just stop you, but they make you feel worthless sometimes they got to the point were cops used their power to physically abuse people .
I also believe that their should be more way to save our environment because animals need a home the same way people need a home.
My name is Elizabeth, Beth for short. I know a little bit about computers, a lot about squirrels, and I like to take pictures at Reed Kepler and the elementry school near my house of squirrels. I have different views on different subjects. I base my opinions on what I learn and hear about instead of which way is Republican and which way is Democratic. I like to look outside the box and yet still not be so obsured that people don't want to listen or follow.
I knew I was a Democrat at the beginning of the class. But I thought I was just a Moderate Democrat. After the spectrom test and scoring an 11, turns out I'm a liberal after all. At first I had no idea being left of the spectrum would divide me from most of the school.
I'm a Liberal Democrat because I believe stem cell research is far more benofical than what most people are thinking it is. With the ability to use embryos, lots of people's lives could be saved and they could live comfortably for the rest of their lives. I'm also strong about being pro-choice and I believe every woman has the choice whether or not she wants to have an abortion or bring and unwanted child into the world. Ever since I was younger I've loved the environment. The environment, to me, is more important than oil drilling and theme parks. The importance of the environment has pushed me to the left greater than any other reason.
THOMAS ALEXANDER M. Democrat
My name is Thomas M. I was born in the 22nd day of the 2nd month of the 1984th year AD. Born in the town of Winfield, IL and Raised in the town of Carol Stream, IL. I have never moved and have recently gotten involved in a live action role playing game called NERO, which stands for New England Role Playing Organization. I am currently a Senior at Community High School District 94, also know as West Chicago High School. I enjoy running and i devote most of my time to eather school or my church. My Parents names are Don and Mary Macauley, i have one sister who is 21 years of age, her name is Kelly Ann Macauley.
I am Democrat, though i don't belive i am a strict libral, i am very much a libral none the less. On the sectrum i am about an 11. Both my parents are Democrats, and i grew up learning things from them. Some of those things are about freedom of choice, that all people should have complete control of their own body, and they loose that right if they try to stop anyone else from having their own rights. I also believe that we are the guardians of the enviorment since we are the most advance race in the world. We have a responseability to protect that in which provides for us.
My most important issues are on abortion, minimum wage, the environment, and animal rights. I believe all people desearve the right to control their own body. If we stop women from having the right to have an abortion then we are taking away their right to have control of themselfs. Also, if we make it illegal to have an abortion then people will have an abortion but it will be done unsafly without proper medical help. Every year their is inflation, but not every year does minimum wage increase, we need to increase it and make up for some of the time when inflation happend without an increase in minimum wage. My biggest issues are over the enviorment and animal rights. Every day we come one step closer to destroying this world and ourselfs with it. We have mass pollution, we have way to much trash and we cut down forest faster then they can grow. We are destroying not only ourselfs but nature with us. If we are going to cause our own demise then lets atleast not destroy the world with us.
JOHN ANTHONY N. Moderate Republican
I am a moderate Republican that has different feeling on certain situations which tends to keep me in the middle of the spectrum.
I have strong feeling about imigration and feel that immigration
should cease or become very limited. I also beleive that we need
to spend more of our budget and have a more active military, as
the trade center, peantagon, and pennsylvania incident is a good
reason for more military personnel and equipment. As far as abortion
goes I beleive in pro choice which puts me in the center therefore
causing me to be more moderate.
