I was born at Central DuPage Hospital. I've lived in West Chicago my whole life. I like to spend time with my friends, listen to music, sing, read, etc. I am a student leader at my youth ministry. I also teach the 3-4 year olds class at my church. I used to want to be a preschool teacher, but now I'm not really sure what I want to be. The one thing I do know is that I want to glorify God with my life, wherever that may be at.
I am a Republican. I stand to the right for most major issues. I believe that the federal government should have a smaller role. I think that more decisions, especially about where our money should go, should be left up to the people or to the local government. I don't think that it is possible to have an equal distribution of wealth, and I don't think it is something that we should strive for any way; they tried that once, it's called communism. I think people should be able to spend, save, and invest their money however they choose, and to support the topics they agree with.
I think that the separation of church and state is a major problem in this country. The separation of church and state was intended to make sure that the state could never have the power to control people's religious views or stop them from openly worshiping as they choose. And that is exactly what the government is going today, by trying to take God out of the schools and the work place, and by making it so hard for teachers and for students to praise God and speak about what a difference he makes in their lives. Istrongly support the idea of prayer, religious discussions, biblical teachings, etc. in schools. For me and others, Christ is the most important thing in our lives. That's who we are, and when Christ is snuffed out, so are we and everything we stand for. Another issue that I feel strongly about is abortion. I am pro-life and a believe strongly in the sanctity of human life. There is never a good reason to murder, and if people "choose" to do so, I believe that they should be punished just as any other murderer. I also believe that people in the US are too dependant on welfare. Instead of just giving money away to people, welfare should consist of education and job training. That way people will be able to solve their financial problems on their own and not be dependant on the government. It is the responsibility of private and religious organizations to care for people's needs, it is not the role of the government.
Hi my name is LeAnn; I grew up in West Chicago my whole life. My parent's names are Brian and Paula and I have one sister named Ashley. I went to Indian Knoll elementary school and West Chicago middle school and presently enrolled at WCCHS. I love to play softball and golf. I am on the girls varsity golf team (we are not that good) I work part time at Carson Pirie Scott where I get a good discount. For my future plans, I plan to attend a college downtown Chicago. I have a few chooses in mind but not sure. I want to go into pre-medicine, and hopefully work in the ICU or in pediatrics.
I would consider myself a moderate republican with alot of democratic views. Some of my major issues are pro-life, anti-affirmaive action, Lazzie faire, equality for everyone, and a flat tax. I think big businesses should be left alone. I think that if we left the economy alone it will be fine. I believe strongly in social darwinism, that if you work hard enough for what you want then you will get it. I think we should abolish affirmative action. I do not think it is right to decide who gets a job over whom because of the color of their skin or their sexual preference. I also believe that the local governments should have more power. The local governments know what kind of laws and support we need. Their focus is on us. The federal government has so much more to worry about and focus on. They cannot cater to everyone's specific needs. My three major issues are abortion, capital punishment, and immigration. To start with, I believe abortion should be abolished. I think it should only be allowed in extreme cases if the mother is in danger or because of rape or incest. I think it is selfish to take someone's life because of a stupid reason like I do not want to have a baby right now. Well if they did not want to have a baby then they should not have been involved in the act of sex in the first place. They should not put themselves in that kind of situation to be at risk. They should take care of their responsibilities. Second, I believe capital punishment should be abolished. I do not believe in an eye for and eye. I think that a criminal should have to live with the guilt of what they did. I also think that we waste money giving people the death penalty. We spend millions of dollars that could be spent towards our people for more important things. I do not understand the kind of example we are setting for our people if we show that it is ok to kill the criminal for killing the innocent victim. Third, I believe that we should have cut back on the immigration into the United States. Enough immigrates get into the United States illegally anyway so why let in more. The US is being very over populated. The people coming in need to blend more with us instead of separating, that is what the United States is all about blending of cultures.
Hi I am Robby M and I'm 17 years of age. I love playing sports and having fun. Anybody that knows me will say that I am very competitive when it comes to an competition. I absolutely hate to lose. Also, my favorite food is spaghetti so when ever your family is having dinner and its spaghetti invite me please! thank you! Also if anybody thinks they are good at ping pong let me know because I am turning pro. I am the best of the best! Over and out!
At this point in time I am a moderate republican that stands proud to believe this way. I agree with most of the republican views and will back them up as necessary. I feel very strongly about downsizing the government. As a republican this is very important. When the government has to much power then they can infringe upon the rights of every American. If whenever this came to be then America would not be a great place to live for anyone. A smaller federal government and bigger local governments is the recipe to success. Also, as a republican I believe in little to no taxes. Taxes should not punish profit. The hard worker should not have his/her hard earned money taken away because the government needs to safeguard itself by taxing every American. Taxes are a no go if you are a republican! Finally, I stand proud about banning abortion. Abortion is absurd and not to mention wrong. Killing a new life before it has a chance to live is down right cruel and MURDER!!!! If you know someone having an abortion then make me proud and tell them that is not right for the good of the newborn. Have a nice day be safe and come again!!
Some issues have come about and as a republican I have strong opinions about crime and poverty. For one if you commit a crime you should be punished for it. Also, the death penalty is suitable if you kill or commit a terrorist attack. Capital punishment is a must if you are a republican. Also, poverty is a main issue in today's society because many people are poor.
I grew up in West Chicago. I Went to Pioneer Elementery school.
My hobbies are running, swimming, and
hanging with my friends. I'm curently on the football team. After
high school I Plan on going to collage.
I am strickly Republican. The Governmet should make America a good place for us. Citizen's to live. Eather shape up or ship out! For big Armed forces and Small But effective Goverment.
I Feel strongly about Flat tax,No abortion ,and Strong Military. I Feel Hate Crimes should be treated no differenly than a regular crime. If your never planing having a abortion, than why be conserned with the bill. If you are for the graguated tax than u are saying u r poor. if you cant preform as a American citizen. Than You Will orderd to one of the Armed forces, failur to do so will fesult incarceration. .
MORRIS B. Moderate Republican
My name is Morris. I was born in Chicago and lived there for the first seven years of my life. I moved around alot at this time period and finally ended up in West Chicago. I have lived here since second grade and attended Indian Knoll, and West Chicago Middle School. I enjoy playin' sports, hanging out with friends, listening to music, and and seeing movies. I am also black just in case you didn't know.
I, Morris, am a member of the rebpublican party. I believe that our country should have only a few restrictions on gun ownership and usage availability. People are the ones to blame for killing not the weapon. On the topic of foriegn affairs, I believe that the government should concentrate on the problems in America well before taking on the problems of the rest of the world. By taking sides in other countries, it will only cause harsh feelings between the U.S. and the oppising side. On the democratic side of the spectrum, I agree with their views on taxtation. Since there has to be taxes,I believe that a progressive tax is the only fair way to tax the people. I am very much pro-life. I believe that an unborn child should have the same rights as the ones already born. I also agree with gay and lesbian rights. The government should stay out of it and leave it up to society to chose whether or not they want to accept it.
My name is Linnea C. I'm seveteen years old and I grew up in Carol Stream and lived there my whole life until I recently moved to St. Charles. I grew up with a mom a dad and a brother. I'm currently in poms at West Chicago. I want to go to Northern University and to graduate school to become a lawyer.
I am, and always will be, a republican. I believe that the rich have earned their money and are entiteled to their fair share of what they earned. Because of this I believe in a flat tax to keep America fair. I also believe America should stay out of the problems of other countries and concentrate on our own and what is happening here. The U.S has enough going on and enough to work on, that we don't have time to interfear with other countries and their problems. I'm mostly a republican because of the abortion issue. I hate abortion and feel that it is a form of murder. To kill a form of life that is in no way capable of protecting it's self is inhuman and morally wrong. You made the decision to have sex, so take care of the consequences. Abortion is not a form of birth control, it's a form of murder. Another topic I am very strong about is Affermative Action. If I work my butt off to achieve outstanding grades and high a.c.t scores it is completely unfair for an uneducated minority to be accepted over me because of their heritage. Affermative Action is reverse segregation and another example of our country's way of being hypracritical. Being republican is the only way America will recieve justice and fair leadership.
Hey everyone hows it goin? My name is Dan F. and I am a senior at West Chicago H.S. Well I currently work as a waitor at Wyndemere Retirement Home.I play ice hockey for a club team called the Chicago Blues. After High School which I hope ends soon I plan on attending Illinois State University to study International Business. If I choose I'd like to play a couple of seasons of Jr. Hockey somewhere then go to college. As for me, I stand on the political spectrum I find myself as a strict republican. One thing I strongly believe in is flat taxes. The amount of money you make should not affect how much you have to pay in taxes.I really believe that progressive tax rates contradict the American work ethic of working hard for your money.I think its unfair to those American citizens who have worked hard all their lives for a good education and have finally got where they wanted to be and now they have to pay more in taxes so that someone who didn't work as hard can have some free money. On a very popular subject of debate, abortion.I am a pro-life advocate.I think that abortion is disgusting and its murder. If people are going to have sex then they must realize the possible consequences and take appropiate action to protect themselves. And finally, on the issue of capital punishment I am supporter of it.I do believe in the saying "eye for an eye." People who murder people should not be allowed to live because they put an end to an innocent life.
I was born at Central Dupage Hospital on September 20, 1983. I lived in Wheaton until I was 13, then I moved to Winfield the summer before 8th grade and I have been here ever since. I like to play sports, rollar blade, and watch funny movies. In the future I expect to go to college for both teaching sophomore year English and being a nurse.
I think people shouldn't be pentalized for being talented and making more money than others. We should all be taxed the same, but people with a lot of money should do something to help those less fortunate. Some can't help their lifestyles. I am against abortion for the most part. We should get rid of capital punishment, and we should help ourselves first before we help others.
I believe that a woman shouldn't have an abortion unless she has been raped, incest was involved and if her or the babies life is in danger. However, I do not believe that we as the people or the government has the right to tell a woman what she can or can't do with their body. I do not believe in the death penalty. I think doing this would be the easy way out. Instead they should be kept in a room by themselves and not have any privilages. Also I think we should have gun control to the point where they have to go through some tests before they are allowed to purchase it.
I was born in Chicago on December 9, 1983. I have a sister who is 20. I run track (100, 200), and my goal is to go downstate this year. Also, I think I am going to run track at Marquette University if I attend there next year. I also play golf, but I am not as good at it as I once was. When I am bored, I go on the computer and look for things to do, or I play guitar. Me and my friends do various things. When there is nothing to do, we go to OCB (Old Country Buffet) and eat until we throw up. After that, we play ping-pong, welt ball, or just hang out.
When it comes to my political views, I am a somewhere between an extreme and moderate republican. Most of my views are republican, but I have some views more liberal, and many views that are extremely to the right. For example, I am an advocate of the flat tax system. Also, I believe that unborn babies have just as many rights as born humans.
One of the views that is strongly to the right is my view on
Affimative Action. I don't believe that people have a better chance
at getting a job just because of their race. It is a perfect example
of reverse descrimination. Another view that is very much to the
right is my views of the flat tax system. I don't understand why
people want the rich to pay tons more money, when they would be
paying a lot more money than the majority of the population anyway
with a set percent of their income. Our economy is based on oppurtunity,
not freebies. This also shows my view on welfare. However, one
of the views that makes me moderate is that I believe in voluntary
prayer in school. To me, forced prayer is very wrong, but to completely
get rid of if is against the ideas of the Constitution. People
should have choice to do what they want. Freedoms shouldn't be
taken away from the majority to please the minority. The issue
that makes me a little bit moderate is that I am against more
police enforcement. Freedom of privacy is a right that shouldn't
be taken away.
Welcome to my Page! My name is Julia C. I was born in Aurora
IL. but I grew up in West Chicago.
I elementary schools here in West Chicago I also attended the
Middle School here in West Chicago. After High School I plan on
going to C.O.D. and study computers and work with computers. My
hobbies are shopping and talking on the phone and go out and have
fun I also like to travel.
I am a Liberal Democrat because I think that it is the women's
rigth to choose what she does to her body. I also think that everyone
should have the same opportunity to get an education and get a
good job
I think the Government should help out the people that need
the help to go to school and have a good future for themselves
and their family because everyone has the right of having and
beign what they want to be that is why many immigrants come here
because it's a free country. I think tht every state should have
their own government because it would be easier to deal with.
Some issues that feel really strong about are for example the
abortion issue I think that it is the right of a women to choose
what she does it is her choice.
I also think that crime is crime no matter what way people look
at it and no one should get away with a crime as small or big
as it is. I think that poverty is a big issue also because people
get paid minimum wage or less and they work hard for their money
but because they have big families they can never save money because
they barely can get througth life with the money they get get
that is why i don't think that therer should be aflat tax rate
for everyone.
I was born in Wisconsin. I moved to Carol Stream. My childhood was outstanding in Carol Stream and then I moved to West Chicago in my teenage years. I continued attending Benjamin until high school. I've been playing baseball since I was five. I have an older brother that I have been a friend with since day one.
I was appointed democratic caucus leader for my class but I believe I do not best represent democrats. My views are either drastically to the left of the spectrum or completely right, no in-betweens. Being called confrontational wouldn't be my first time. I am also not a stranger to such words as jerk, stingy, almighty, and persistent. I've been called logical, probable, and thought-out. I'm open-minded but rarely am I actually reconsidering my standpoint on issues. That's not because I can't be persuaded it's more due to the fact that my opinions are established firm. I am completely not religious, it's not because I don't want to go to church it's because I strongly disagree with all major concepts expressed by major religions. Basically, I don't believe in God. Don't take that as I'm not moral though.
What makes me a democrat? Probably my standpoints on such issues
as privacy. I am completely pro-privacy. I am anti censorship.
I am pro-choice. I am anti death penalty. Although, I am not for
a stronger gov't.
If you don't know my name something is wrong with you. My name is Corey C. I play Football, basketball, and run track. I have been playing football for 4 years and playing basketball for11 years and ran track for 4 years. I hope to major in Culinary and Pastry Arts. I plan on having my own business one day. I love to hanging out with Jessica Strock,Cindy and others friends.
I am for the people and to help the people. I am a Democrat and One day I hope to run for President. So I can be the only the black President in the United States. I hope one day I can change the world , with the whole fact on Black America. I hope that I can have a great impression on the fact that we as a nation have to find a way to help everyone without anyone thinking that they are left out. I want to help the inner city and Suburbs. I am for all the people and alway will be.
I agree with Pro Life unless there was a reason like rape.
Even though i am a democrat i still agree with osme of the republican
ideas. I am for the progressive taxs. If you where making 200,00
and somebody else was making 25,000. It would be better for somebody
that makes more to pay more because most you still have money
to make it and for luxurys like extra cars and boats and etc.
But if a person the make 25,000 was to pay alot it would make
are county worse. It would be just like helping somebody out but
not just giving them money. Gay and lesbain rigth should be practice
everywhere in the world and our county mostly to make it better.
I think there should be stricter Gun control laws on who owns
a gun and who is saling them. Another issue them come to mind
is that there should be animal control laws on animals
Hey whats going on? My name is MARCOS F. If you dont know me or if your just player hating I am a senior at West Chicago High school. Let me tell you some things about me. I played football for 2 years of high school and I'm also a wrestler. I plan to wrestle this year and conclude my four year wrestling experience with West Chicago Community High school. After I'm done with high school I plan on going on to College (COD). Then after college I should have some sort of of college degree, and then start a full time career. What side am I on? The left or the right? I'm more towards the left side. In other words I'm a Democrat. I belive in the same thing they beleive in. An example I believe in pro-choice (a female has a choice to have an abortion). I beleive that we should have strict gun control laws. I aslo beleive in affirmative action. I think that affirmative action is a good thing. It stops racism and helps out other people (minorities). Thats all I'm going to tell you. Now that I told you about the present time of my life let me tell you some of my past. I was born at Central Dupage Hosptial in Winfield, IL. Have I traveled alot? Yes I have. I been to Mexico a couple of time and I've also been up and down the central part of the United States. I've also been to LasVegas. My interests are going out with my friends and listing to music. My favourite kind of music is Hip-Hop.
My party Affilation is hard core Democrat. I'm a democrat because I agree with most of the things that they believe in. I beleive in pro-choice meaning the female that is pregnant has a choice to have a an abortion or not. You know some people are not ready to have a kid so they have a choice on what to do with the situation that their in. I think that the goverment has to be involved in the states or else the states can turn against the goverment just like the Civil War. So I think that the goverment should be involed in what happends in the states. The goverment should also be involed in the money systems. What I mean is that there should be minimum wage laws. I think that everybody should get paid more than $5.15 hour. Our economy is so high right now that I think nobody can live on less than $5.15 an hour.
I also think that the tax laws should be the same that everybody
has to pay the same taxes just because you make more money the
goverment should not cut you out on your share of the money that
you're making. So I think we should pay equal taxes. Or in other
words you pay taxes in your area and other people pay taxes in
their area. I also think that people should not censor other people's
thoughts or beliefs. Everybody has a choice in what to say even
if its bad or not. But still it doesn't give people the right
to swear or put people down. If you have something to say say
it, but dont say it unless you don't mean it. Every thing you
say must have a reason. Let's talk about something else Let's
see? Let's talk about abortion. I'm not saying abortion is good
and I'm not saying it's bad but I do believe that the women or
the couple having the baby has a choice to have it or not. That's
why I believe in pro-choice. Some couples are just not ready to
have a kid and abortion is what they turn to. That's what I think
about abortion. The couple or the women should have choice to
have one or not. Lets talk about crime in society. Our society
today is very bad with crime but I think that person that did
a crime should have a fair trial. I believe in innocent until
proving guilty. Thats all I have to say. Thanks for visiting my
homepage. Laters.
NATE W. Super Moderate Democrat
I am on the football team, number 41. I am the second string nose guard behind Borzma. I am the captain of the wrestling team. I enjoy lifting weights at the Academy of Human Performance, wakeboarding, and sitting around with my friends doing nothing. I was born in Columbus, Ohio. When I was 3 or 4 we moved to Winfield. I have lived there ever since. I have been to Germany, Puerto Rico, Romania, Canada, and Mexico. I plan on going to college next year and majoring in computer science.
)<------------------------------------------------X----------------------------------------------------->
As for the political spectrum I am dead smack in the middle.
I lean to the right on some issues and to the left on others.
Basically I leaned a little to either side depending on the questionnaire.
I am declaring my self as a democrat because my proposal to form
my own party was voted down. I agree with a lot of the minor things
that republicans feel, however 2 out of my 3 major issues go democrat.
I feel that a smaller government is important. I feel, however,
that the federal should do what it has to make the USA the greatest
nation in the world. I feel that a strong middle class is the
key to a strong economy. 4)I am strongly against the capital punishment
and plan to abolish it. I am also against abortion and am pro-life
in almost every case. There may be a few cases of rape that I
believe abortion in the earliest stage may be acceptable. However
there is no way to really determine which cases are valid or not
so I think we have to totally allow
abortion or totally get rid of it. I am for getting rid of it.
I am also for strict gun control. I believe that the less guns
we have available, the less gun related killings we will suffer.

Also I think we should have gun control to the point where they

JASON G. Moderate Republican
I was born in the hospital of Central DuPage in Illinois. I really haven't gone to allot of places in my life but I have gone to Florida and California in my life. The time we went to Florida we took our mini van all the way there. It was a long trip (23 hours) and it sucked because I had to go to the bathroom so much and so did everyone else it seemed like it took longer than 23 hours. Then we stopped to get something to eat allot and that made it seem like it went even longer. Then the time we went to California we took a plane and then went on a cruise n the border of Mexico for a week then took a plane back when the week was over. For hobbies I play football and I sleep allot of the time which I like to do most. My other hobbies that I would have to say I have is playing basketball and drivin' around doing nothing basically. Most of the time I am just hangin' at somebody's house chillin' playin PS2 or somethin' like that. I don't really know what the question means expectations for the future but I expect the future to be hi tech and the united states to own most of the world since what is happening right now in new York will cause an effect and we'll just have to take over. If the question means expectations for my future then I want to go to college, which I don't know which college right now but then after college I want to go into the marines and create a career out of the marines. Then after the marines I will settle down and just chill and probably sleep for most of my life since that is what I like doing most. I will probably have a side job like fixing cars or something, Thais if cars aren't too high tech to fix.
First off I would just like to say that I know I am officially on the right side of the political spectrum. The reason I say that is because, for example the topic of distribution of wealth, I think people who make the most should have taxes that suite their wealth and the less wealthy like middle class should have taxes that suite their wealth. The topic on society's problems, well it should, I think, be handled by the state and I very strongly on that. In some cases though I believe that I am on the left side of the spectrum but mostly more to the right of course, like the topic of power between the states and the federal government. Like the tragedy that happened in New York, that is the nations problem and not the states so the federal government should have the most power. As for the topic of political rights, everybody should have political rights and they should not be violated because of the constitution and what it says in it.
The issue that concerns me the most is abortion because I feel that it is not anyone's right to decide for the woman who is going to hold the child whether or not to have an abortion. It is her right because she is the one that can hold it and its not like a guy really has a say in it. No offense but all the guys are interested in is just having some fun. The women of the world bring life into this world and they have the right to take it away. If someone else feels different then that is their problem and should not have an abortion themselves. Allot of the times people say that they should suffer or go through with it because it was the girls fault in having sex in the first place, well my opinion to that is that person is ignorant to the other person and to say that they should suffer just makes them sound really sick. As for the death penalty, I think that should stay in effect, it is weird to see how many people make exceptions because of this New York tragedy. People are saying that the death penalty is wrong but not for the people who bombed us. If you even have the thought in your head that capital punishment can be excepted for one issue then there are a whole lot of issues you haven't though of yet that you probably would have changed your mind which in my opinion it is right to have.
Hey, my name is Martha M. and my birthday is May 7, 1984. I was born in Chicago, but have lived in this community since I was about a year old. I have played softball since I was in third grade and plan on continuing to play until I graduate and go off to college. In addition to playing softball, I enjoy participating in our school's math team. Math team allows me to be with my friends and solve math problems all at the same time!! I live with my mom and dad here in West Chicago, while my sister who is now a sophomore in college attends the University of Florida. Unlike her, I plan on attending a university closer to home. My goal is to attend the University of Illinois and study psychology and political science. In addition to studying the liberal arts and sciences, I would love to go over to Germany and study abroad.
When it comes to party affiliation, I can confidently declare myself a Democrat. Although there are many issues I feel very strong about, there are those that really place me on the left side of the political spectrum. I am a big believer that society should help the individual-"from those according to their ability to those according to their needs." When I say this, I am referring to issues such as graduated tax, welfare, and Medicare. Another issue I show great concern with is our society's way of dealing with criminals. It's a joke how our government thinks they are serving justice when giving murderers the death penalty. Quite clearly this system is ineffective (it doesn't prevent criminals from doing what they please) and inefficient (the costs would amaze you). Why is it that our country is so oblivious to that?? Next, of course, is the issue regarding abortion. I am a big believer in pro-choice, simply because it should not be up to the government to make laws which correspond to their moral beliefs. Lastly, I feel our government must make stricter gun laws. Fact after fact has been handed to us regarding guns, deaths, and regulations that it is quite clear that the government must take better charge to ensure the safety of our society. It is these issues I feel the strongest about, and thus, I can clearly identify myself as a Democrat.
When looking at these political topics from afar, there are certain issues in our society today that concern me the most. To begin with, our society places money above all. The belief that the amount of money you bring home determines how successful and happy one will be is one of the biggest problems I have with society. We have a tendency to show no mercy to those less fortunate, and we view them as simply "lazy." Secondly, our society is losing the sense of what is more important in life. We are so consumed and busy with "getting on top of things," that we don't value family, friends, the ability to sympathize, understand, and love. Our society finds it so easy to forget that those born into poverty are not given equal opportunities, minorities and the poor are not always given fair trials, gays don't have the same rights as heterosexuals even though they are human beings, and the list goes on. We snicker at those who are different than us and look down on those who don't believe in the same things as us. And although I could go on, lastly I will say I show great concern with society's inability to understand. (And some laws even reflect our inability to understand.) We don't need to love one another, just simply understand one another. If we understood each other, there would be less name-calling, snickering, laughing, hate crimes, riots, suicides, murders, terrorists attacks....It is these issues which concern me the most, in the society I live in today.
I was born at Delnor Hospital in St. Charles on October 16, 1983. I have live in Batavia until I turned three and have lived in West Chicago since then. I have gone to Lincoln, Indian knoll, and gary. Then I went to the West Chicago Jr. High and now I am a senior at the West chicago High School. My hobbies include listening to music and I am a distingished bowler already having one 300 game under my belt. I currently hold two jods at the Fox Valley Mall, one being a weight loss store. However right after I graduate I am getting shipped out to Army boot camp with a military police job for 5 years and quite possibly make a carreer from it.
I'm truelly believe that I hold all my values and beliefs to the right side. I understand that I hold conservative beliefs and that I am a Republican. All of my reasoning falls deep on the side the republican's point of view. i hold dear most of my ideas and i feel that they need to be looked at as good ideas rather than horrible ideas that don't mean anything when dealing with the demicrats. I hold pro-life as only way to go when dealing with abortions, for they are not property but humans. I think prisons need to be striped of luxuries and I strongly support the death penalty to disencourage crimes from happening. I think everyone has the right to bare arms to protect the ones that do diserve to protect themselves. I think praying in schools is only exceptable when praying with christianity since it was the original religion. All my ideas greatly reflect a hard nose republican with no shadow of a doubt being any part liberal or nuetral in any areas. I know that with the Republican Party in control that every will benefit reguardless of what they believe about the strongest party in the 18th session.
I believe as a republican that the states should take more power in the peoples lives rather than the federal system in that the states know what is best for their own group of people. I hope we can stop crime and to do this we must hire more cops and build better prisons. I think we should elimanate public aid and the only way to elimanate poverty is to find them jobs. I think nothing really should be banned and use censorship in the minamum amounts so not to take away the idea's essence. We should ban abortion but get stronger on enviromental issues so we have a great future to look forward to. We should cut off all foriegn aid and start the huge payback in national debt to raise our country to the next glorious level.
My name is Kathy and I am in 10th hour government. I was born at Central Dupage Hospital on January 2, 1984, and have lived at the same house in West Chicago ever since. Ever since I was three years old I was involved in a singing group, Sunshine Generation. I'm no longer involved, but still have an interest in music. I generally listen to rap, hip-hop, R&B, and rock, but my favorite is Mariah Carey. This spring break I plan on going to Arizona to visit Arizona University, and this summer I visited Northern Illinois University. Once I decide where to go, I plan on majoring in business, and double major in psychology. After school I'm undecided on if I want to go to beauty school and open hair salons, or become a child psychologist, or a marriage therapist. It's such a hard decision. I look forward to moving into a huge house that is very modern inside, but outside, castle-like, and hopefully you'll see me around cruisin in a Z28 T-top Camaro, or a Ferrari. Although I have so many things I want to do with my life, my dream is to get a record deal, and be able to sing with Mariah Carey just once before die.
I, Kathy Frantzen, declare myself a democrat. Rather than being close to moderate, I think that I am more close to the left end of the political spectrum. I think that however much money you make is yours, but the government does have the right to take some of it for causes such as social security, retirement, funding education in your community. I know that some people think that all the money you make is yours, and that is true, but if the government didn't take any of this money in forms of taxes, how would you fund education? Would there still be social security? Will the national debt ever be paid off? I also think the government should help with societies problems. For example, say there is an oil spill, the federal government should step in and take control, whether it be by giving money or sending out volunteers to help clean up. Just recently, the World Trade Towers collapsed, and I think the government did what it was supposed to. They stepped right in with extra help for the clean up. I think that the states should have some power, but I think the federal government should have most of the power. If a state wants to pass a law, if it doesn't affect any other states, and it doesn't contradict the constitution, that state should have the power to create that law. If the law does contradict the constitution and affects other states, I think that the federal government should have the power to veto the bill.
An issue that matters to me is crime, and what do we do with the people that commit these crimes. As of today, criminals are locked away in prison, and in many cases aren't given the chance to rehabilitate and contribute in better ways to society. I do believe that criminals should still be locked up, but inside these prisons there should be special rehabilitation programs that can make a difference in the prisoner's life. I also think that people that commit "not so harsh" crimes should be taken to a rehabilitation center where they can get help from a professional in order to teach them that what they did was wrong, and they can turn their life around. Along with prisons, I think that capital punishment should be banned. It is wrong for any person to kill another person. I don't care if the person on death row killed hundreds of people, capital punishment should not be used. I think that person should suffer in a cell without social contact, and pictures shown constantly of what he or she did. We, as citizens, do not have the right to take another life, and neither does the government. National debt is another issue that matters to me because it is more serious than how people think of it. I think that if the government wants to pay off the debt, marijuana should be legalized and taxed since the drug business is a multimillion-dollar business. The taxes taken off the sales of marijuana can go towards paying off the national debt.
My name is Vanessa. I was born at Luthern General Hospital on March 1,1984.I am now seventeen and still living in West chicago. I went to pioneer, and then to West Chicago Middle School, and now attending West chicago high school. I have been been playing on the West chicago varsity tennis team since I was a freshman. This is my second and last year going to TCD to become a cosmetologist. My plans after high school are to attend University of Chicago to become a pharmacist, and work as a part time student at a salon.
I believe that I'm a democrat becasue I'm for more government oriented programs. I also think that there should be graduated taxes. So then the ones who make less money will not have too much money taken away from them. Also there will be more money for the poor like government programs. I think government programs are good because it helps the ones in need. Also the state governments should have more power than the federal government. The state governments know exactly what is going on with their people and how to take action. I also agree that everyone should have political rights becasue we live in the United States and the citizens are here for freedom. So we should always have all of our freedoms in hand.
One of the issues that matters to me is abortion. I think that it's wrong for one to kill a innocent baby. The baby has as much right as you do to live. Also if a girl gets pregnant she knew what she was getting herself into. Use protection and then babies won't be killed. Also one can always give their baby up for adoption to a family who would care and love it. Another issue is about the death penalty. I really think that if someone kills another human being they should deserve to die also. Everyone has the right to life but once you violate it by taking anothers life you will have to pay. Another issue is poverty. I think that everyone should have equal education. So that the poor could become more educated in life. Also they would have the oportunity to become more successful in life. If everyone had equal education I believe that poverty will decrease a lot, and their will be more educated people to contribute to the United States of America. One can't only think about themselves we are a county that should work together to help each other and become more united.
My name is Brian Caulfield. I was born in Bangor, Maine. A month after I was born I moved to Louisiana, just outside of New Orleans. I lived there for 5 years, then moved up to Illinois. I have been here for the past 12 years. Every since I was five I loved to swim. I swim on our high school team; my favorite stroke is butterfly. I cycle a lot whenever I can. During the summer I work at the West Chicago pool, I have worked there for the past 3 years. After high school I expect to go to college at Savannah College of art and design. I have already been accepted and I am planning to go there to study computer animation and film. I love to go see movies, I see almost any movie, and I really dot like see chick flicks. I love seeing sci-fi movies, they just interest me.
I am a democrat. I have the views and feelings of the left side. I feel that we should keep abortion, we should not force a person to give birth to an unwanted baby. I think that every one should have equal rights, we are all Americans, and there is no reason that a citizen, who follows the law shouldn't have the same rights as everyone else.
I feel very strongly toward the tobacco industry. I want to make them have to list the ingredients of their cigarettes. There are many additives that are put into cigarettes that the FDA would not approve of. The tobacco industries do not have to abide by the FDA laws. I would like to pass a law that would make the Tobacco industries have to abide by FDA rules and regulations, that would make them have to put an ingredients list on their packages. Another issue is I feel strongly about is all this censorship, I feel that people are to scared and think they have to shelter their children, so they push for censorship on everything. While things like Adult movies and magazines have proper censor. Things like movie theatre censorships have become way too harsh. As of now any under 17 can not get into a rated 'R' movie unless they have their parent see the movie with them. They won't even let a parent consent to seeing the movie the parent must go and see the movie with them. My issue I feel strongest about is the legalization of marijuana, if we were to legalize marijuana it would increase of revenue greatly. One pound of medically grown marijuana goes for roughly the same price as a pound of gold.
I will be 18 in about 2 months and so that will be awesome.
I am suppose to talk about me but I really don't like doing that.
Oh well it is part of the course. I am student training with the
Athletic Trainer at school.I am at football practice everyday
and I go to all the games and all of the other sports. I plan
to study Athletic Training and sports medicine in college so this
is really cool for me. I want to go to Northern Illinois for college.
I see so many cuts and dislocations that it doesn't bother me
any more. I actually like seeing all of that gross stuff. When
I have free time I listen to music. My favorite music is punk
and rock
and all of that. I hate pop music and rap. I also go out with
my friends a lot. We usually don't do anything but go to the mall
but it is better than doing nothing. Over the summer I went to
Germay. I went with the German Exchange program. We were there
for 3 weeks and it was the best time of my life. I really want
to go back but I don't have the money. The Germans were so nice
and I have so many friends there and I miss them all a lot. We
have so many memories. My favorite is of the parties and when
we went to the cafe. The rest of my summer I went to Wisconsin
and did nothing. The only cool part of going was learning how
to water ski. I have never been able to stay up until this year.
I was so happy
I am a democrat if you didn't know. I tend to favor the things that democrats believe in and what they want. I have sided with almost all democratic subjects in class. I have taken many tests that prove that I am a democrat. I don't like what republicans stand for so I am a democrat.
I am a big animal rights person. Mainly democrats want animal
rights and that is something that I believe in. I am part of PETA
which is short for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.
Many republicans say that PETA stands for People Eating Tasty
Animals but that is not what it is. I don't eat meat very much
anymore. Only like once a week but only because my doctor makes
me or I get really sick. I don't buy products that are tested
on animals because of the way animals are treated
and I don't wear leather. I did my junior research paper on this
and it made me even more into the animal rights. So I think when
we do disections in Anatomy and Pyhsiology I will just watch and
not do very much. I don't like that idea of killing animals to
see how they work. I know lots of people don't care about this
subject but I don't care what people think of me. This is how
I feel and what I believe in.The second topic that makes me a
democrat is Gun Control. I am for gun control. I understand that
in the Constitution it says that we have the right to bear arms
but with the people today more people
are killed by guns than when the Constitution was written.I think
that people kill people with guns that they shouldn't have been
able to get. With less guns there will be less killings. It has
been proven. The third topic that makes me a democrat is censorship.
I believe that we should have no censorship. We are the only country
that has censorship and it is taking away the freedom of speech.
It isn't fair. Democrats think that there should be no censorship.
Paernts and grown ups in every other country don't complain about
why things should be censored. It is unfair and we really don't
need it. At this time
censorship is taking away an art form and people should just accept
it. If they don't like the music or the writing than they don't
have to read it. It is their choice and it is not a life or death
thing. That is just a few of the reasons of why I am a democrat.
I know that many people won't agree with me but like I said earlier
you don't have to read it. It is not a life or death thing!!
I was born in Winfield, Illinois in 1984. I have lived in Carol Stream, Illinois my entire life. Currently, I am a Senior at West Chicago High School. Throughout my life I have been very involved in Soccer and am playing on the school team right now. Our team is very good and will be the state champs in a couple of months. I work at Wyndemere Retirement Home. There I serve food to the residents. Basically, I am a waiter. I have a car. It is a white 1992 Pontiac Grand Am. It is the best car ever. This is my Information.
I am a moderate Republican. I have pretty strong views on the right side, but I do agree with the left side sometimes. I would say that I am just right of center .
I have some very strong views. I am totally against abortion. Also I feel very strongly that we should drill for oil in Alaska. Our country desperatly needs oil and gas, and if we drill it will save us a lot of money. We are also having a problems with the middle east and we need another way to get oil.
My personal information goes like this. I was born a child prodigy out of Maywood, Illinois. My parents were glad to see there second child come out looking just about as good as they get. As my life roled on, I became more interested in sports and other activities. I have lived primarily in the same spot my entire life. I am currently enrolled in west chicago community high school and play soccer and now tennis. The 2001 soccer season will hopefully yield a state championship ring. we definitely have a chance. I am seventeen and enjoy doing anything that i find amusing, and that of course changes from day to day.
I declare myself as a republican. I feel that most of my views lean more towards the conservative right side of the political spectrum. However, I am not a very strong or extremest republican. I can easily fit in with the other side (democratic) on some issues. I can see both sides to every issue, but my instinct tends to always lean right.
There are a few issues out there that I do find interesting and have strong beliefs on, such as: (1) the death penalty, it should be allowed; (2) Gambling, should be legal nation wide for equality and other political reasons; (3) Immigration, there should better laws and more regulation; (4) English as a primary language, this should take effect to unite our nation and give us more thorough communication; and (5) abortion, it should be allowed in most cases but should have a few more strings attached.
these are a few of my political views and can be explained a bit more if you desirethe added information, give me a little e-mail.
