My name is Brian O. and I was born on October 12, 1979 in Glendale Heights. From there I moved to Bloomingdale where I resided my time for a couple of years. Next I moved to the place where I currently live, Carol Stream. I went to evergreen elementary school, Benjamin middle school, and now attend West Chicago Community High School. My favorite subjects are math and foods and I like to play sports, all sports. I am now on the varsity soccer and baseball teams I currently don't have a job but will aquire one as soon as soccer is over.
I have decided that I am a moderate Democrat having beliefs in both sides but believing much more strongly on the left side. I am on this side of the political spectrum because I believe in things like: higher taxes, equal distribution of wealth, power flowage to the federal government, and more power to the workers.
I strongly support the welfare system and believe that it should not be cut. It is a vital part of the economy acting as a rehab or safety net for people looking to get back on their feet again. Another issue I feel strongly about is abortion. I believe that a woman should have the right to do what she wants with her body and the government shouldn't interfere. Another issue still is the issue of tax distribution. I don't think kids in DuPage county deserve a better education, or head start, than kids down south have. As far as education goes everyone should get an equall opportunity.
I, Jason H was born in St. Charles, IL, but I lived in West Chicago for the first seven years of my life. While in West Chicago I attended Gary School for first grade and kindergarten. After first grade I moved to Carol Stream where I attended Evergreen School for grades two, three, and four. After graduating from Evergreen, I attended Benjamin for grades five, six, seven, and eight. Continuing to reside in Carol Stream, I began attending West Chicago Community High School. During my four years at West Chicago I have participated in both soccer and track, and just this past summer I began working at Best Buy. In the future I plan on attending a prestigious university, and becoming wealthy at a high paying job.
I, mostly definitely, am a Democrat. I have chosen this affiliation because of my liberal views. I believe in a strong federal government, a loose interpretation of the constitution, and help for the common man. Part of the reason I am a democrat is my upbringing. Both of my parents are also democrats. They have instill the belief into me that everyone deserve opportunities, and this part of the basis of the democratic belief.
I strongly believe that government should provide laws to protect the common worker. Things like free health care, minimum wage, and paid vacations are some of my passionate views. I also believe in Pro-choice for abortion. I believe that anyone, up to a certain point, should have the right to decide if they can support a child along with themselves. As I have said once before all of my beliefs stem from my belief that the common man is the most important.
My name is Alberto F I was born in Elk Grove, Illinois at Alexi Bros.' Hospital. I used to live in Franklin Park for the first nine years of my life. I then moved here to West Chicago and lived in the same house up until the present time. In Franklin Park I went to Scott School up until the end of third grade. When I moved to West Chicago I went to Gary School then to West Chicago Jr. High School. Then to this high school. I plan to go to a four year university and major in business. After I graduate my plans are to become a millionaire by the time I'm twenty-five.
I declare myself to be a Democrat. I believe I have more in common with the democratic views. The republicans seem to be stricter and out of the times. The democrats are looser and are willing to change. I don't totally agree with all democrats but that's the good part. The republicans believe in a strict interpretation of the Constitution. The Constitution is an old document and is not up with the times.
I am pro-choice and abortion should be allowed as long as it is not partial birth abortion. People should have the right to choose if they want a child or not. I also believe in the government starting programs for the underprivileged.
My name is Adam B, born and raised in good old Winfield, Illinois. Dupage County is the only place I've ever lived. As a youngster I attended Greentree Preschool and Indian Knoll Elementary School. In the seventh grade I entered West Chicago Junior High. At fourteen I started my high school career at West Chicago Community High School, where I attend to this day. I'm not involved in many extra-curricular activities. I have played golf for the school all four years. My other hobbies are outdoor oriented. I am an avid skier and mountain biker. In the summer, I'm employed by T.G. Construction and assist in the building of decks. I'm undecided about the future. After high school I will go on to a four year college and major in whatever makes me happy.
I am a democrat. I feel that in the last few years I have become a better thinker and have started to make my own opinions. This country is in dire need of change and direction. I used to think that problems will take care of themselves, but people who believe that are just fooling themselves. I also believe in the rights guaranteed to us by the Bill of Rights. I am a strong democrat and believe that people have the right to choose, in every respect.
I am not for abortions, but I feel women have the right to choose the destiny for their child. I would like to think that women take time to make a difficult decisions like that, and choose the most appropriate route. For that reason I am also in favor of legalizing RU-486. I feel that this could limit the number of abortions done today, and would give women an alternative. I also believe in the legalization of marijuana. People have the right to do and smoke whatever they want. Most importantly, I am in favor of a progressive tax structure. I don't like the fact that the rich are getting richer in this country and I would like to see a fairer distribution of wealth. There is no doubt in my mind that I belong on the liberal side of the spectrum.
My name is Liz B and I was born in Geneva. I now live in West Chicago. I attend West Chicago Community High School. My favorite subjects are history, english, and orchestra. I am captain of the girls' tennis team, and I am the president of Key Club. I plan to attend either Sarah Lawrence College, University of California Berkeley, or Oxford University. My career goal is to run the Library of Congress.
I am a strong, far left democrat. I tend to be extremely to the left on most issues. I am pro-choice, I support progressive taxes, I want to cut military spending, have the federal government pay for education, end capital punishment, and basically increase the amount of government aide and the number of government programs we currently have.
There are two issues which I feel strongly about. The first is the right to an abortion. I believe that every person has the right to choose what they are going to do with their body, and that is why I am pro-choice. The other issue is education. I strongly believe that we need to cut the military budget in half and use the money toward education. Our country cannot succeed if we do not educate out youth. These beliefs are supportive of the people, and the peoples' right to choose. Liberals believe in choice.
The second of September, 1980, I was born in a small town in the Mexican state of Michoacan. From there, I moved to West Chicago, Illinois, where my parents were already settled. I have lived there since, but continue visiting my birthplace often. In West Chicago, I have attended Pioneer School, West Chicago Junior High School, and West Chicago Community High School, where I currently enjoy playing soccer, and volleyball. I am also participating in the Peer Helping program which concentrates on guiding freshmen through their first year of high school. Upon graduation, I hope to attend a four-year university where I will major in engineering.
I support a majority of the democrat point of view, as I agree with the value of the individual. In contrast to their greedy counterparts, the democrats are concerned with everybody's rights- and not just the rights of a few. In accordance with the political spectrum, I also believe that everyone needs to be guaranteed a right to succeed.
One issue I strongly favor, is the issue of affirmative action. I believe this is an essential strong point in the fight for equality and overall prosperity in the nation. Also, I support the fight to restrict the possession of arms, seeing as more guns mean more deaths. That along with the issue of abortion are destroying our society, and should be stopped immediately.
I was born in Larned, Kansas an February 1,1980. I moved to Stillwell, KS, in March of 1980, when I was adopted by Arlyn and Jan Berg. When I was five, we (my parents, my brother Tony, and my sister Ani) moved to Winfield ,IL. Then in 1991, we left IL to go to Philadelphia, PA for two years. Then we moved back to West Chicago, IL in 1994. The schools that I went to for the longest time were Indian Knoll and the West Chicago Community High School. My favorite subjects are Spanish and English. In my spare time, I love to play the piano and sing. I play the piano for the services at my church on Saturday nights. I plan on going to The University of Kansas after high school and maybe majoring in teaching or physical therapy.
My party affiliation is democrat. Democrats have an open-minded way of thinking about things. Republicans worry way too much about themselves and their money. I believe taxes help public schools and things of that sort.
Some issues I believe strongly in are abortions. I think women should have the right to choose whether they want to have an abortion or not. I also am strongly against the death penalty. No one should be put to death just because they made one or two mistakes . I believe the government should let people decide for themselves. This country used to be full of freedoms, but now, we're losing everything to the government.
My name is Joe M. I was born in Melrose Park,IL. I have lived in Carol Stream, my whole life. Growing up I went to Evergreen Elementary School, in grades 1-4. My junior high I spent at Benjamin Middle School in West Chicago through grades 5-8. During high school, I went to West Chicago formy freshman, junior, and senior years, but I went to St. Francis for my sophomore year. I really didn't enjoy my year at St.Francis, that's why I came back to West Chicago. My favorite subjects are P.E and Government. My hobbies include sports, television, and music. Basketball is my favorite sport, but I also like football and baseball. I curently don't have a job, but I'm getting one soon. My future plans are to go to a 4 year university.
I believe that I'm a part of the democratic party. I believe this because I believe in individualism, and changing with the society. I am also in favor of passing a legalized gambling expansion bill.
I believe in passing legalized gambling because I feel that all states should be able to gamble for the reason of entertainment along with fun and making some money. The money the casinos make could be partially used for other things needed in the United States. Casinos would also add more jobs to society as well.
My name is Carol P, I was born in Winfield at Central Dupage Hospital. I lived in Elmhurst until I was four, and have lived in Winfield ever since then. I attended Winfield Elementary and Middle Schools until my eighth grade graduation. I have always enjoyed the subjects of math and science, with their unlimited purposes and uses. My last job was working at Applebee's Restaurant as a hostess. I'm now looking for a job where I can work my way through College of Dupage, where I plan on going next year.
I would place myself among the moderate liberals because I agree with most of their views on issues that are important. I do disagree on some of the issues where I would take a more conservative view point, for example I think that something should definitely be done to lower our taxes for everyone. But more importantly I feel that the government should be allowed to regulate businesses, to protect the workers. I also think that the central government should have more power over the states, but not eliminating their power completely.
I feel strongly about many issues, where I take a strong democratic view. For example, the whole abortion issue, where I believe that it's the woman's choice what to do with her pregnancy and her own body. Another issue I feel strongly about is capitol punishment. I disagree with those who say that capitol punishment is a good form of punishment for criminals. If someone kills another person, killing them would be committing the same crime. There are some issues where I may be undecided, or agree with the conservatives, but on most important issues I feel that the democratic party has got the best ideas and solutions to solve major problems and keep things in line.
My name is Viki S. I was born in Winfield at the DuPage County Hospital. I live in West Chicago Illinois. I have lived in West Chicago for 17 years, and go to West Chicago Community High School. I work in the mall at Aeropostale. My plans for the future are uncertain, but I hope to be able to go to college. I'm not sure what I'm going to major in , but I'm thinking that I'll major in business.
I am a Democrat. The reason that I am a Democrat is definitely because I believe in pro-choice. I feel very strongly about this issue. I am also for immigration. I believe that immigrants are the foundation of this country . Although I am mainly Democratic there are a few Republican issues that I agree with. I agree that the government should not get involved with businesses.
I strongly agree with abortion. The reason is that I believe that a mother has a right on what to do with her body. The government should not have a say, or tell her what to do. It is the mother who has to go through pain and childbirth, not the government. I disagree that religion should be taught in schools or discussed. America is not based on one religion and nobody has a write to say who is write or wrong. I think that the government needs to have control but when it comes to businesses. That is what separates us from other countries, we have a free market society. My beliefs are mostly Democrat but I do have a few Republican beliefs. On the political spectrum I would be to the left near the middle. A moderate liberal.
My name is Jennifer M. I was born in Chicago, Illlinois. Two years and one child later, parents were divorced. I lived with my mother and my younger sister, Angel, in an apartment owned by my grandparents. When I was in third grade, my mother was married to my stepfather, Ray, and we moved to West Chicago. Ever since then, we have lived in our house in West Chicago. I am very involved with school activities, and I am currently a Peer Helper, Senior Class Vice President, and I am on the golf and softball teams at this school. I have also worked nearly twenty hours a week since the summer before my junior year. When I grow up, I want to be a sports doctor, or some other career that will enable me to work with people and make a difference.
I am a moderate liberal because my democratic views slightly outweigh my conservative beliefs. The strongest determinant of my party affiliation is the fact that I believe that the Federal government should have more power than the state governments. Many of my views side with the left side of the political spectrum, but I can also see and agree with issues from the right side.
Although I declare myself a Democrat I am extremely Pro-Life; there is no excuse for killing an innocent person. On the same level, I am Pro-Capital Punishment; nobody should kill another and be allowed to live adn enjoy their own life. I believe that Affirmative Action, although it is meant to help those who are discriminated against, actually discriminates more against others who may have higher qualifications but won't get the job because they are not of a certain racial background. I also believe that the federal government should be stronger than the state governments, and states should have less rights thsn the federal government has. If all of the states have different guidelines, there will be fights between them. Wealth should be evenly distributed between the states. The reason that some sities are considered wealthy and others are considered poor is that their neighboring cities have all of the money and won't share their wealth with others. I also believe that there should not be a time allotted for religion in public schools. Education is required in America, so we should not force one man's religion onto another while they are somewhere that they must be. There is no need to make people feel uncomfortable in a place they are required to be daily. Although my views are scattered throughout the spectrum, I feel that I am more of a moderate liberal than a conservative.
My nave is Jon H. I live in Winfield which is where I was born, at Central DuPage Hospital. I have lived in Winfield my whole life while attending Winfield Elementary, Middle school, and West Chicago High School. My favorite subjects are art. math. and science. I play basketball, soccer, and baseball and like to create art. As a job, I referee soccer for the Winfield Park District and teach sports in camps for the
West Chicago Park District. I plan to attend a four year college and major in Robotics or Computer Graphics. I also plan to go to graduate school to earn my masters, and create better job opportunities.
I am a Democrat because of my views on Abortion, Affirmative Action, and for government regulations. Democrats mostly believe in freedom of choice for those who chose to have an abortion. Affirmative Action is believed to be another form of discrimination and may be even racism. It discriminates against the non-minorities and is wrong in the views of me and the Democrats. The last thing is government regulations, they are needed and also need to change over time. These regulations are for the people and protect the people. These are examples of my views and how they are Democratic.
I strongly believe in the right to chose if you want an abortion. This is a Democratic view because they are pro-choice. I feel that a baby's life starts when it is born and the mother has the choice to better herself by having an abortion. If this baby is unwanted they why bring it into this world. There are too many children without homes or in torn homes who suffer because the mother was not able to abort the labor. I feel that abortion should be legal in all states, in all cases.
My name is Joe K. I have grown up in the same town ,Carolstream, all my life. The schools I have attended are: Evergreen (1-4), Benjamin (5-8), and West Chicago(9-12). I have been currently involved with soccer and track. Some of my Favorite subjects have been America History and all of my math classes.
I see myself as being moderately republican. I find myself at times as being on both sides of the political spectrum. My views can range from a strong liberal to a even stronger conservative.
Some Issues I strongly support are using abortion, the death penalty, and a strong state goverment. I believe if we have a strong state goverment we can focus on more of the problems we have in are state. I believe on this issue of abortion, we have to be able to choose if we have the income to bring up a child in this demanding world. Now days it costed 1million dollars to bring up a child to the age of 21. if these people cant afford it, the taxpayers will be paying to bring up these children. Because this belief and other that is you i see myself a moderate republican. We need to make harsher punishment on criminals to make them realize that crime doesn't pay. I disagree with welfare program and affirmative action. Affirmative action is just punishing the minority and costing more discrimination then before. The welfare program is to easy to get on so we should make more restrictions and shorten the time period you can be on it.
My name is Lisa L. I was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I lived in Heartland, Wisconsin for 6 years and then moved to Winfield, Illinois. I went to Winfield school from K-9th grade. I work at Sports Med Center for Fitness, at the front desk. I enjoy playing basketball and tennis. In the future I plan to go to college and become an Athletic Trainer.
On the political spectrum line, I am a Republican, but I am not a strong Republican. The reason I believe this is because I believe in a lot of the issues that the Republicans believe in. I found Republicans don't waste money unlike the Democrats. Republicans want to spend the tax payers money on their community, instead of other communities.
An issue I strongly believe is the death penalty. I figure if someone can kill a dozen people, then they should be killed too. We shouldn't have to waste the tax payers money on keeping the killer alive in jail for the rest of their life.
I, Justin S, was born on August 7, 1980. I lived in Bartlett Illinois and attended Wayne Elementary School until the 4th grade. I then moved to Carol Stream and attended Evergreen Elementary School and graduated from Benjamin Middle School in 1994. I attended St. Francis High School until the 2nd semester of my junior year, when I transferred to West Chicago High School. I play boys basketball and work at Prestige Nursery Garden Center. I plan to attend a 4 year college and major in aviation/flight. Upon graduation , I plan to be in the Air Force.
I see myself as a Republican, although I am very close to the moderate mark on the spectrum. I chose the right side of the spectrum because I am in agreement with many Republican views. I strongly support the Republican concept of flow of power to the states. I feel that if the system of government is smaller , the more affective the results will be. I also support lower taxes. People should have to pay as little as possible out of their paycheck every week.
I also agree with the Republican party on many issues. For example, I am a supporter of the death penalty. In fact, I think it should be used more often. In most cases of hardened criminals, rehabilitation is a waste of time and money. I also feel that gun control should be handled by local governments rather than the federal government. Some issues, such as gun control, cannot possibly be handled by the central government and be affective in every community. Because I am neutral on some issues I consider myself a moderate Republican.
My name is Brenda V. I was born on July 21, 1979, in a small town in Chile , South America. I live with both parents, my fifteen year-old brother, and a ten-year old sister. My family and I came to the U.S. twelve years ago, and have lived the entire twelve years in West Chicago. I attended Lincoln School 1-6 grades, the West Chicago Middle School, and am currently a senior here at the West Chicago High School. My future plans are to attend a four year university and major in television communications with a minor in either French or theater. I also hope to study a semester in France my junior or senior year.
I am declaring myself as a Republican. I came to the conclusion that I belong to the right, because I agree with almost all of the views a conservative has.
First, I believe that everyone should be taxed the same, because if you work hard for your money why should the government take it away from you.
Next, I believe in pro-life, because everyone should have the right to live. Why should someone's life be taken away from them because of a mistake. Also, I think that now a days abortions are being used too much as a birth control, and that should not be the case.
Those are my reasons why I chose to be a Republican.
I Omar V. O. was born at Delnor Community Hospital in St. Charles. I lived in West Chicago my whole entire life up until now. In my younger years I attended to all the grade schools in West Chicago, except the new ones that they built. I am a senior and currently enrolled at the West Chicago Community High School. My hobbies are playing sports, weight lifting, working out, and eating food. Right now I'm currently working in the hospital in the sterilizing department. My future plans is to attend two years at C.O.D and then transfer to a university.
I'm a moderate to the right because there are some issues that are to the other side of the political spectrum in the democratic and other issues to the republican side. I chose a little to the right because of the individual in the society.
Some of the issues that I support are capital punishment and protecting minority rights. If someone commits a serious crime they should be able pay the penalty. Instead of life in prison, they should have an option to pick a my kind of death penalty. Also there should be a protection of minority rights because of the hate speeches that many people say.
My name is Danielle Elizabeth M., I was born and raised in Winfield IL. I attended Saint John's when I was younger and then switched to Winfield Elementary and also attended the Winfield Middle School, and now I am a senior at West Chicago. My hobbies are playing volleyball and hanging out with my friends. I plan on attended College next year but I am undecided at the moment but I hope to receive a volleyball scholarship and I am not sure in what I want to do after college.
I finally decided that I am a Republican I agree with many of there arguments such as issues on welfare, taxes not so much on abortion but I think that there should be some regulations in these situations, I also agree with Capital punishment.
As a Republican the issues that I mostly support is Capital Punishment and the issue on taxes and welfare the reason I why i support these issues is because I believe that in todays world you have earned in what you have worked for and I think that if someone has done that and been successful then why should he/she have to pay a little extra I understand that their is extra money but if you have earned it then should be able to keep it. Another reason in why I am a Republican is because I believe and support Capital Punishment I think that is a great decision to finally get rid of criminals.
My name is Richard D. I was born in Deltnor hospital in St. Charles. I've lived in West Chicago, Naperville, Winfield, and in Lombard. I attended preschool at Green tree, kindergarten at Roy de Shane, first and second grade at Gary. Third grade through fifth at Longwood, sixth at turner, seven and eight at the middle school, and ninth through present at the high school. My hobbies are football and wrestling. I worked at the park district pool for my sophomore summer. then I worked at McDonalds for seven months my junior year, and presently I've been working at Ace Hardware in West Chicago for the past three months. My plans for the future is to join the national guard and to college to major in criminal justice.
My party affiliation is a Republican. I chose this party because I'm more of a liberal person, although theres certain topics that I'm also conservative about. I believe the government should set the laws and govern the states. Yet owners should be able to run the business, set there own prices, and wages. All though I'm am a Republican, I sometimes agree with Democratic issues.
An issue that I really believe in is free health care for people who need it, with some restrictions. If people can't afford to have a certain surgery that are affecting your health then the government picks up the payments that you can't afford. Now how you decide how much money the government should pay is by how much money you make. Your income decides how much money the government will pick up.
My name is Laurie M. I was born in Elmhurst, Illinois, and lived in Broadview, Illinois, until I was three. I then moved to Carol Stream, where I have lived since then. I attended Evergreen elementary school, Benjamin middle school, and I am now a senior at West Chicago High School. English has always been my favorite subject. Besides being actively invovled in my church, I work at Barnes & Noble bookstore. Next fall, I plan to attend Taylor University and study forensic psychology, and maybe go on to law school.
I am a very conservative Republican. The main influences on y decision are probably my parents, who are active members in the Republican party, and my religious values. I am a strong supporter of traditional values, and I value life, but means I am for
abortion, and, although a Liberal view, I am also against Capital Punishment. I believe that the government should leave businesses alone, and more power should be given to the state government. The Federal government can't handle all the problems, because the problems vary from state to state.
Right now, I am most concerned with finding our values again. I would like to see an anti abortion law, stricter laws against sexual offenders, stricter laws against the press, and stricter censorship laws. Although the right to privacy is a Liberal view, stricter laws against the press goes along with censorship, a conservative view. I am also a strong supporter of the "trickle - down" effect, because it creates more jobs, as opposed to just giving money to the people who need it. That way doesn't create jobs, it only keeps the people on welfare.
My name is Kelly Rose K. and I was born in Delnor Hospital in St. Charles. I have lived in West Chicago all my life. I have attended Turner Elementary School, West Chicago Junior High School, and Community High School. My favorite subjects are english and history. Following graduation I plan on attending Marquette University and majoring in journalism.
I am a moderate republican due to the fact that I believe the government should have limited regulation of business. I feel entepeneurship should be rewarded and profits should not be highly taxed, we live in a competitive world and the successful should not be penalized. I also agree with reducing the power of the central government and the flow of power being directed to the states, this way the particular problems a state may be facing can be addressed on a more local level.
I strongly believe in the need for the death penalty and tougher sentencing on crime, because violence in America is getting out of control. I do, however, believe that laws need to be enacted to control the sale of guns in our society. Also, I feel that that the immigration system needs to be regulated, and the welfare system in the U.S. is in serious need of reform (even elimination). My views reflect my beliefs that being motivated and determined can get you everywhere, and and their should be no consequence for being successful.
My name is Lexie N. I was born in Thousand Oaks, California on May 16, 1980. In 1989, my father recieved a job transfer and we moved to Winfield, Illinois where I currently live. I've attended Indian Knoll, West Chicago Middle School, and now WCCH. Some of the subjects I enjoy are; english, horticulture, and psychology. Outside of school, I enjoy art, sports, and traveling. My future plans include going to a four year university and majoring in psychology or anthropology.
I declared myself a moderate republican because although most of my views are conservative, I have some liberal views such as expansion of space studies, gun control, gay rights, and i am pro-choice on the abortion issue. I believe that although abortion shouldn't be used as as form of birth control as it often is, it is a woman's choice whether or not to get an abortion. There are too many women having children that they don't want, and therefor, the child is neglected and often abused.
I strongly believe that good morals, hard work, and family values should play a big part in our society and that without these, society becomes violent and dysfunctional. We need to concentrate on the youth of our society because it is the younger generation that will eventually help or hinder our society. I agree with the death penalty and I think we need to inflict stronger punishments on rapists and other criminals in order to rid our society of these outcasts.
My name is Beth E. I was born in Winfield and have lived there my whole life. I have attended Winfield Elementary school, Winfield middle school and am now currently attending West Chicago High School. My favorite subjects in school are Social Sciences. I'm a cheerleader for the football and basketball teams. I'm also in FBLA, and in the spring I play soccer. Next year I plan on going to a four year college and majoring in Social Sciences.
I am Republican for many reasons. First of all, I am pro-life. I think abortion should be illegal except in rape cases. I believe that abortion is murder. People need to start taking responsibilities for their actions. There are many families in our country that want children but are unable to have them. Adoption is the answer, not killing innocent babies. I also believe in tradition values, which put me on the right side of the spectrum.
I am strongly against Affirmative Action. I don't think that there should be race or gender questions on job and college applications. I realize that it is meant so that the work place and colleges are diverse, but it is discriminating more by choosing someone because of their race or gender. Another issue I feel strongly about is prison reform. I think if a person is going to commit a crime they should be strictly punished.
