Forty-six West Chicago Community High School students were recognized during the Breakfast of Champions on January 13, 2017. Students were acknowledged during a special breakfast for their successes and contributions to the school. This recognition event takes place once each semester.
Students were nominated by teachers or other staff members using the following criteria:
- Demonstrated significant academic improvement
- Made a unique or difficult contribution to a class, the school or the community
- Overcame a significant challenge
- Dealt maturely with a hardship
- Improved the positive climate of the classroom or the school
- Provided support for a peer
At the breakfast, students received a certificate that included why they were nominated by a staff member for this special award.
