CHS Drafting Students Take Honors in Regional Competition

Community High School students took honors at the annual Illinois Educators Regional Crafting Competition held on March 4 at College of DuPage. All twenty of the CHS drafting students did an outstanding job. Two of them were recognized for excellence in their areas: Dale Szul, a senior, placed first in the Machine Board and freshman Joe Peletis placed first in Introduction to CAD. "We are really proud of them," said Industrial Arts Department Chairman Paul Junkroski. "This is the first time our students have place first in two of the seven competitions" he added. Both students will go on to compete at the state contest held at Illinois State University on April 16th. Dale is the son of Mary and Dale Szul, Sr. of West Chicago. Joe is the son of Patty and Dan Peletis of Winfield.
