Junior Statesman of America to Sponsor
School Board Candidate Forum
The Junior Statesman of America Club of West Chicago Community High School will be sponsoring a School Board Candidates Forum on Wednesday, April 4th at West Chicago Community High School, 326 Joliet Street, West Chicago in the Auditorium. All candidates from District 25, 33, 34 and 94 have been invited.
Candidates from District 25, 33, and 34 will be available for questions and comments at 6:30 PM. The candidates for District 94 will be available for questions at 7:30 PM.
“The purpose of this forum,” says JSA president Dave Thomas, “is to give candidates for School Board an opportunity to address issues vital to education. These issues involve a range of matters that include policy, finance and the direction of education for the future.”
The moderators for the District 94 forum will be Mr. Dale Crawford and Mr. Frank Danes. Both are former school administrators and have participated in District 94 committees. They will be asking questions that have been submitted by the audience and news media.
Junior Statesman of America is a student organization that holds biweekly meetings at Community High School. Interested students discuss current events and work to promote civil discourse and active participation in the political process. “JSA believes that Democracy is not a spectator sport,” states President Dave Thomas. “We believe this event will be a great opportunity for the candidates to get their message across, and allow the community to become more knowledgeable in order to cast their vote on April 17th.”
