Chrissie Rovtar Named November 2008

Student-of-the-Month

The faculty and administration of Community High School would like to congra= tulate Chrissie Rovtar, of West Chicago, for be= ing chosen Student of the Month for November.

One of her teachers describes Chrissie as a “com= plete package” and continues to state that Chrissie “is always positi= ve, cooperative and kind to her fellow students. She accepts all challenges graciou= sly and with aplomb. Her classmat= es respect her and look to her for her advice and leadership.”

Chrissie is a committed athlete participating in both basketball and softball. As a junior, she earned All-Conference in softball= and Honorable Mention for basketball. This year, she is the captain of her basketball team. Hitting a home run during the sect= ional final softball game last year is one of Chrissie’s favorite memories.=

Besides participating in sports, Chrissie is very invo= lved in school activities. She has been a member of Student Council for four yea= rs and is acting treasurer this year. She is President of the Pep Club and represents the school as a Stud= ent Ambassador. Recently, Chrissie was chosen to represent Community High School as a delegate at the= Civic Summit where student delegations from across DuPage County met to discuss community issues and actions.

Academically, Chrissie is a member of the National Hon= or Society and the Spanish Honor Society.&nbs= p; She excels in math and hopes to pursue a career as an athletic train= er or physical therapist. She pl= ans to attend DePauw University and continue to play softball.

Chrissie is guided by a quote by Mike Ditka, “Yo= u are never a loser until you quit trying.” She believes that putting forth yo= ur best effort in whatever you do makes you a winner.

The administration, faculty, and staff at Community High Scho= ol congratulate Chrissie on all of her accomplishments and wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors.
