DAN HARMS NAMED CHS

NOVEMBER STUDENT OF THE MONTH

Dan Harms has been chosen Community High School Student of the Month for November. Dan has been very active in sports at Community High School. He played football for three years and was team captain this year. Dan has played baseball for three years and plans to do so again this year. He is a member of the National Honor Society, German National Honor Society, FBLA, and is a Student Ambassador for the second year.

Dan has demonstrated leadership skills in many areas. In addition to being a team captain in athletics, Dan has represented Community High School at the DVC Leadership Conference. He was also recently nominated to the Daily Herald Leadership Team.

Even though Dan is very involved in school activities, he is also active in the community. He is very active with his church youth group and has done volunteer work for the PADS Shelter. He has participated in the West Chicago Leaf Rake; and this past summer, he helped a single parent in his neighborhood by cutting her grass.

Dan plans to attend the University of Illinois and major in Electrical Engineering. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David Harms of West Chicago.
