The Music Man

to be Performed at CHS May 13-15

The spring musical, The Music Man, will be performed at Community High School in West Chicago at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday May 13, Friday, May 14 and Sunday, May 15.

There will be assigned seating for these performances. Tickets are available from cast members or at the door. They will cost $6 for adults and $4 for students and children under the age of 12.

There is a cast of nearly 60 players. The lead characters will be played by CHS seniors Andy Dameron, Peggy Wehrle, Emy Krauspe, Jeff Hansen, Mike Giese and Lathie Norton; and by fifth graders Joe Wais from Indian Knoll School and Samantha Lauf from Benjamin Middle School.

The play is directed by Mary Hafertepe, while Kimberly Brafford serves as assistant director with Brandon Fantozzi as music director.

The Music Man, written by Meredith Wilson, is a musical comedy with a touch of romance. The story centers on a con man that comes to a Midwestern town with a scam involving a boys marching band. Events, don't go according to plan, however, and soon spin out of control, according to director Hafertepe.
