CHS Students Celebrate Mock Wedding

Contemporary Life students at Community High School will celebrate a mock wedding at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 15, 2004. The wedding will be held in the Commons area at the high school, 326 Joliet Street in West Chicago. Students are responsible for all aspects of the wedding, from planning through participating in the ceremony.

The bride, groom, bridesmaids and groomsmen, clergy, wedding planner and a dee jay are chosen randomly from students in Patty Clifford's Contemporary Life Classes. Others work on the decorating, programs or invitations.

The annual event is open to the public. Admission price is $3 in advance and $4 at the door.

Katie Desik will be the bride, and Jorge Valdez will be the groom. The maid of honor will be played by Jenna Spaniol, while Brian Lillie will play the best man. Jake Brandstedter will "officiate" at the ceremony. Bridesmaids include Bernie Dimas, Dlizabeth Diaz, Beth Rakow, Kilye Clark and Fanny Cortez. Javier Morales, Dan Zieche, John George, Gerry Avalos, Tim Clairmont will be groomsmen. Cariee Clark and Alex Dimas will play flower girls, and Michael Joseph Branch will perform the duties of ringbearer. Alyssa Claude and Tom Burke will play mother of the groom and father of the bride.
