Fifty-Nine Illinois State Scholars Named at CHS

The Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) has announced the names of this year's students honored as Illinois State Scholars. The State Scholar program recognizes Illinois high school students for outstanding academic achievement. The Commission is pleased to announce that 59 Community High School District 94 students have been named Illinois State Scholars.

Those students include: Nicole Adams, Christina Adduci, Jason Becker, Jennifer Buchman, Phil Buska, Alyssa Campagnoni, Tim Dupree, Joshua Foster, Filomena Gentile, Sarah Gouskos, Dana Grant, Thomas Grove, Jeffrey Hansen, Daniel Harms, Christine Harris, Sarah Hasse, Leigh Hellman, Tyler Hemple, Nils Higdon, Krista Johnson, Andrew Kiger, Emily Krauspe, Hillary Lim, Erin Linsenmeyer, Michael Liszka, Tracy Macias, Roger Maritote, Lisa Martin, Ryan Masschelin, Rachel McKenney, Robert McLaren, Ryan McQueen, Kimberly Mueller, Timothy Murrey, Erik Nelson, Amy Norman, Lathie Norton, Jill Novak, Kim Palka, Brett Palmer, Jenna Pelej, Daniel Polacek, Eric Radloff, Kristen Rocha, Kimberly Rovtar, Carl Sauter, Shaila Shallcross, Michael Smolucha, Ashley Spindler , Shaina Sullivan, Elliott Tinnes, Jacqueline Vavrek, Jorie Vlach, Jessica Warbiany, Amanda Weier, Alexander Wemple, Margaret Werle, Samuel West and Kristin Wolfe.

Students ranking in the top ten percent of the state's 136,198 high school graduating seniors have been named State Scholars. Rankings are based on a combination of ACT and/or SAT test score results and class rank at the end of the junior year of high school, unless the students achieved a score at or above the 95th percentile for Illinois students on one of the standardized tests. While the program does not provide a monetary reward, the designation as a State Scholar can be listed on applications for college admission and scholarships.
