Community High School FBLA Brings Back Two

Top Ten Awards from Nationals

Community High School's Future Business Leaders of American brought home two top ten awards from the FBLA National Conference in Denver, Colorado recently.

Jeff Cisowski placed fourth in the Business Law competition. This was Cisowski's third national conference, so it was exciting for him to bring home a trophy. Nick Kuras placed ninth in Technology Concepts. He is a second time national winner having placed last year as well.

Jenny Tan and Christy Adduci made the final round for Emerging Business Issues, placing in the top 15 out of 45 teams.

In addition to competing in their events, students attended leadership workshops and campaign rallies, visited campaign booths for regional and national officers, and helped elect the new national and regional officers for the 2004-2005 school year. Faculty advisers Nancy Blume and Mia Wirth accompanied the team to the conference. "It was a very positive experience for our students," said Blume.

"This is the second year that our FBLA has brought home two top ten trophies from the National Conference," said CHS Principal John Highland. "We're very proud of their accomplishment."
