WILDCAT CHRONICLE WINS THIRD
MAJOR AWARD FOR ACHIEVEMENT
The Wildcat Chronicle, Community High School District 94's student newspaper, has received the International Honor Award for Achievement from the International Awards for School News media recently. The Chronicle earned 766 points out of a possible 1,000.
The Chronicle was noted for its coverage of events, receiving a superior achievement in coverage, as well as good achievement in areas such as policy and guidelines, display and design, and business practices. "I think you have all done a really nice job here, and have a publication your school should be proud of. With some tweaking you could easily take yourself to the next level and be one of the elite," said one of the anonymous judges of the contest.
Within this last year, the publication also won the Silver Certificate from the Northern Illinois School Press Association and the first place award from the American Scholastic Press Association.
"The Chronicle staff worked hard last year to improve the paper, and I am thrilled that professional associations recognize the staff's hard work and dedication. I am looking forward to another successful year with the staff," said Wildcat Chronicle adviser Laura Kuehn.
