CHS Wildcat Chronicle Adds Two New Awards
The Wildcat Chronicle, Community High School's student newspaper, scooped up two more awards over the summer. The Chronicle received the International First Place Award from the Quill and Scroll Society, the International Honorary Society for High School Journalists. The paper also scored a Silver Medallist award from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association. The Wildcat Chronicle has a strong history of garnering awards regionally, nationally and internationally. It has also been acknowledged by the school as one of its Programs of Excellence.
English and Journalism teacher Laura Kuehn is faculty sponsor for the Wildcat Chronicle. "I was impressed with the awards considering the students on staff were mostly new to the editorial positions they assumed from seasoned editors and reporters who graduated," said Kuehn. "The students work hard putting in long hours and it shows with these awards," she added.
