Sheltered Government - Presidential Election Assignment



STEP ONE

Enter the results of the survey we took in class on the computer going to the Select Smart web site.  When you are done, record your top three matches on your assignment worksheet.

STEP TWO

Go to the web site of your top two matches and compare and contrast them on their background.  What have they done in the past? What jobs have they had?  What about their family?   Read the information both in English AND Spanish.  Record the information you learned in english on your worksheet.

STEP THREE

Go to the web site and compare and contrast your top two choices on three issues most important to you. Read the information both in English AND Spanish.  Record the information you learned in english on your worksheet.

FINAL STEP

Go to Blackboard.com and leave a message on the discussion board about which person should be the next president of the United States.  Write a paragraph using the information you wrote on your worksheet about their background and issues.  Print out a copy of your message and turn it in with your worksheet.  Which ones meet your criteria?  What attributes do these judge have that you would add to your list?
